Active Roster
Ok, I know I am setting myself up to be torched for this thread but so be it.
I have reviewed all of the current coaching possibilities, both past, present and coordinators. Here is what I found.
Marty Schottenheimer - I know he plays "Martyball" and isn't exciting but the guy wins. He was a head coach for 20 season. Of which he has 2 losing seasons and 3 seasons of .500. The rest are all winning seasons. That is remarkable. I know he is old, but if determined he has a career winning percentage of .613. That is damn good. His passing offenses always ranked in the middle of the pack not the bottom while his rushing attack was towards the top. We could do worse. I know he doesn't win in the playoffs, but that can change.

Mike Martz - I know he is crazy at times, but he wins and has a high powered attack which everyone says they crave. He also has questionable game management but if we are scoring we have a chance in every ball game. He has a career .624 win percentage.

Scott Linehan - He didn't fare well but give the guy a break he was in STL with no talent. He always produced productive offense with a very pass oriented scheme. Heck he was very good as OC here in Miami, made Gus Frerotte look like a pro bowler! Very ppor .306 win percentage but talent on team inherited can be to blame as well.
Joe Philbin - He has mentored Rodgers and can bring a winning mentality to the team. PossiblyMatt Flynn as well. Never been a head coach but has mentored under Mike McCarthy. No he doesn't call plays either. As with Carmichael would be a crapshoot on how he would command the locker room.
For all of you wanting Jay Gruden, thinking he has done such a marvelous job, here are his statistics. He is 10th in rushing attempts, and 20th in passing attempts. 20th in passing yards. They were barely better than we were. They won their games with defense not offense. I really think this guy is over rated. He totally abandoned the run when the game was still close in the playoffs which tells me he panicked! Only 1 year of being a coordinator, no thanks!

Dennis Green - He still has to have the itch, he has even coached in the whatever league it was, UFL? He is an offensive minded coach who throws the ball alot. A Career .546 win percentage and he inherited a bad Arizona team and built them into a good team only to be let go and then they developed the young talent and got better but they were his players!Glossary · SHARE · CSV · PRE · LINK · ?

Junes Jones - Now I know this one is way out of left field, but those who crave a heavy passing attack, he fits the bill. Was not successful in his previous chance however with a career win percentage of .379. He did have a lack of talent to work with on those teams however. Every year in ATL he was Top 10 in Passing yards and TD's though!

Pete Carmichael Jr. - He has never been a head coach but he comes from a winning organization and has mentored under Sean Payton. This guys doesn't call plays but does help game plan and sees how the Saints offense operates. Would also have some familiarity with Reggie Bush! Passing Offense ranks in yards and tds speak volumes!Glossary · SHARE · CSV · PRE · LINK · ?
