Is this guy a legitimate back up? I know that he did really well for the Patsies in the preseason last year, but he's still unproven. Does anyone have any info on this guy? I heard that he broke numerous records in the Sun Belt, but that's the Sun Belt.

From what everyone in the know has said, the guy is pretty damned good. I'd assume Meuller and Cam know just how well, and we'll see him as our #2 if Ricky doesn't come back.

If Williams does not come back, look for someone other than Cobbs as the #2.

You've got to give a guy that's 5'11" 250 lbs with 4.3 40 speed a chance to prove himself. Unfortunately that's not Cobbs.

Patrick Cobb did lead the nation in rushing his sophomore year at North Texas so he does have some abilities.

The Pats traded him to Pitt because they decided to stay with Heath Evans at FB instead of using Seymour there again. Pittsburgh then released him when they signed Najeh Davenport because of his versatility.

Cobb could be a good backup to Ronnie if Ricky doesn't come back.

I knew the guy had shown some skills in preseason, but I didn't know how big he was! I'd like to see him get his chance.

I believe he's 5'9 210 pounds, a slight bit bigger than Maurice Jones-Drew and about the same size as Maroney.

I watched him run in college as I was going to UNT the same time he was. He was a very good back in college, under-rated in my opinion. He is fast and had good vision....in college. I would like to see him given a chance but I wouldn't want to pin all my hopes on him.

Cobbs will shine if given the opportunity. I read that he's been underrated his whole career and has done nothing except make great plays
