The Miami Dolphins haven’t been the same without running back Patrick Cobbs in the mix.
But it looks like Cobbs will bounce back quickly and be as good as new despite a season-ending left knee injury suffered Oct. 12 against the Jets.
Cobbs was among many current and former Dolphins who attended tonight’s Kids and Fins Publix Shopping Spree, a signature event for the team that provides a holiday meal for 100 South Florida families.
Cobbs was all smiles and without crutches, to the astonishment of wide receiver and event host Greg Camarillo.
Camarillo hosted Kids and Fins last year shortly before he suffered a tear of his ACL, beginning a long, painful process to get back on the field.
“He’s impressive, man,” Camarillo said of the 26-year-old Cobbs. “There’s not a doubt in my mind he’ll be back to his full form.
“He’s walking around. He’s making me and Ronnie (Brown, who tore his ACL in 2007) look bad. We were on crutches still at this point.”
Cobbs, who had surgery on Oct. 14, said he’s recovering “really, really fast” and expects to be ready for training camp in 2010.
Cobbs said he’s rehabilitating every day at the team’s facility, along with quarterback Chad Pennington, who injured his shoulder Sept. 27 at San Diego.
