Cold Pizza: Ruben Patterson traded to Nuggets

Sonics get Earl Watson and Bryon Russell's corpse.
Nuggets get Reggie Evans, Ruben Patterson and Charles Smith.
Blazers get Voshon Lenard and Vitaly Potapenko.

Seems like a weird trade all around. I'm not entirely sure what anyone gets out of it that's so great. Unless the Nuggets are going to flip one of their three power forwards (Martin, Evans, Nene) for a 2 guard that can shoot, it doesn't do much for them.

The Blazers benefit by addition by subtraction, I guess. Not sure if Patterson has to report as a sex offender in Colorado.

The Sonics...eh, who knows what they're doing? Trading big for small is usually a losing move, and in this case, they've got a good point in Ridnour. Maybe they liked having the two point guard thing with Daniels and Ridnour, and think Ridnour works better as a part-timer, I don't know.
 
The nuggets get a couple good players for this year, Portland gets cap relief, and Seattle gets a PG that actually plays defense. It certainly makes sense for the Blazers.....they finally get to dump Patterson on someone else. I guess the Nuggets will be better, but I dont know by how much. Noone can seriously believe these guys will elevate Denver into contenter status. I think Kiki has just been desperate to shake things up....there have been rumors involving the Nuggets in the Artest and Francis sagas.

I think the Nuggets have defenitely improved with this trade they trade Earl Watson who the Nuggs cant give enough playing time to with Miller and Boykins ahead of him. And the Nuggets biggest problem has been with the injuries to there big men Nene out for the year and Martin bieng hurt most of the year they really needed a big men to come of the bench and I think they got that with Reggie Evans who isnt anything special but is a big body and can come in and grab some boards and I think that Rueben Patterson is going to be a pretty good contributer maybe alittle like Bruce Bowen for the Spurs-Rueben can get in there and bring some defense and intensity so I think they improved but is it going to finally put them in that finals run I dont think so but the Nuggs still do have a chance.
