Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report spoke to a source on Sunday who said that it’s still “really early” for the talk of Dolphins HC Joe Philbin being on the hot seat. However, it’s clear that the Dolphins are not responding to Philbin.

Cole mentions that DC Kevin Coyle remains an issue for Philbin after their defense has struggled mightily to open the year, despite the expectations that came after they landed DT Ndamukong Suh in free agency. With this in mind, Cole suggests that Philbin may need to fire Coyle in order to survive the remainder of the season.

So let's just say Coyle is fired. How will that change an offense that averaging 17 pp (and 7 of those came from a punt return)?

So Philbin needs to fire Coyle to save his own ass?

How about we fire Philbin instead, if only cause he failed to fire Coyle during the offseason when it was pretty clear a change was needed to improve our defense. But nooooo, he decided to keep Coyle and now he "needs" to fire him to save his job? Unbelievable.

It's never too early.

I don't get the Philbin support anymore. If a company has bad managers, and they all should be fired, why try and keep the head manager? Shouldn't the head manager be doing his job keeping the ppl below him in check?
I haven't seen anything different in a long time with this team. Inconsistency, bad schemes against various opponents, poor personnel management -- Enough's enough already.

how is this buffoon not on the hot seat from the past 2 years? Ross is amazingly incompetent

i hate to say it but we are done this yr....so is joe fire all them not just one.

Coyle may not be the problem as much a s alack of talent on defense. Bar far the best defensive players on the team are Suh and Grimes. everybody else are fillers...journeymen. they wouldn't start for anybody else. So as a result we have to resort to scheme and being disciplined
