And when FOX heard that, they told him no need to wait till 2006, and they let him go ASAP.

Collinsworth is without work for this upcoming season.

At NBC, Costas and Collinsworth will do the pre and post game shows.
 
The arrogant little f@*ker is actually very good at what he does. His comments are usually spot on and he's not afraid to put someone down if they're not playing well. I wish more announcers had cojones like that.
 
It sucks he is currently without a job this year. Well he has the HBO thing but without a job on one of the networks doing gameday stuff in some capacity.
 
so that means just aikman and buck? aikman is pretty good and buck is good as long as he only does play by play. i just wish he'd keep his mouth shut when it comes to color.

Actually lets see how his picks turn out this year. Seemed most of the big NFC games he did not pick "because he was calling them". Lets see if he really knows his stuff...

im sure someone will pick him up, he's been too visual not to have someone already eyeing him..we'll see...
 
I liked the Buck-Aikman-Collinsworth booth. I'm glad that Aikman and Buck will still be there. They're both really good. And I agree that Collinsworth is good at what he does. I hope he's in a booth in 2005.
 
I always chuckle when I think of Collinsworth. My late father HATED him. He is a smug SOB, but he's on-target much of the time.
