Colt Brennan.

Colt Brennan just had an operation. He has bad arm strength, and hes not all that bright.

He's expected to go in the 5th round or so.

Oh really? He was awesome in Hawaii.

yeah, and Hawaii plays in the WAC...I mean its WAC

Ok, kidding aside, Hawaii did not play tough competition, until they played Georgia, and they got killed by Georgia.

he was a 5th till the surgery now is a 7th they are saying but its prob better for him cause he was a project anyway

The game against Georgia, a poor Senior Bowl workout and his surgery really hurt his stock. I say if we can't land Henne, Flacco or Brohm with one of our second round picks, I wouldn't mind seeing us pick Brennan up in the 6th round.

The Wac's big three have been better than any team in the Mountain West Conf. Hawaii, Fresno St and Boise St. Basically any team in either conference would have been blown out by a top level Ga team.

BYU was clubbed by a top level USC team, a good Notre Dame team and a good Utah team in 2005. They did not play any team close to Georgia's stature in 2006. Boise st beat a very good Oklahoma team. Fresno St almost beat the number one ranked USC team losing 42-50.

i was really impressed with the brennan interview on rome is bruning

i wouldnt mind lettin him compete on our squad with a 6th or 7th

He was. I think the scouts have labeled him a "system" guy. Not a good tag to have. I was impressed with him. Personally I'm really curious to see how he does.

His stock has fallen down into the 6th or 7th rd. He just had surgury on his hip but should be back to 100% by training camp from what I have heard. A lot of people want to say that he has a weak arm, is too short, to light, only a system QB, ect. I seriously doubt any of those ppl stayed up late enough to ever watch any of his games other than the GA game and the senior bowl. He had the flu and had injured his hip at the senior bowl and the entire team (especially the OL) was out matched by the GA team.

Those who have actually watched him play those late night games know the guy is a gamer. He has a lightning quick release and is hyper accurate. He also does in fact have a strong arm. The two biggest things about him that legitimatly concern me. His low 3/4 side arm delivery. I think that he could get some balls knocked down because of it. Also college run and shoot QB's have historicallly not made the trasition to the NFL very well.

While the guy can obviously pass the ball successfully, can he be coached to play under center and trained to take 3,5,& 7 step drops? I think for him to be successful he needs to be picked by a team that doesent need to press him straight into action and can spend a season developing him under center. With that in mind I wouldnt hesitate to use a 6th rounder on him. He could turn out to be the next Timmy Chang or the next Tom Brady. Either way a 6th rd pick is not a lot to pay to find out IMO.

hopefully the kid paid attention while attaining his college education.

Perhaps he may need it to find a job. Although, I am certain somebody will take him late, and he just might get used to being a backup.
not really starter material though if you ask me.

Brennan's stock has fallen as badly as anybody I can remember in recent history. A year ago the talk was that he would be a first or at worst second round pick. Now, even without the injury, he's nowhere close to being taken on day one.
