Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

I love how people think the Colts want our spare parts. Players like both Wilsons, Gaskin, Ahmed, etc, have pretty much no trade value at all.
Exactly. This will cost us Achane plus.

Of course JT will garner interest, he's a young stud. Of course, whacko Irsay will say he won't trade him then say he's tradable. Of course Irsay will say he wants record setting compensation, then settle for something else. The guy is a flake and Miami rumors surrounding JT to Miami will be at the forefront until he goes to another team. Cook all over again. If he want him we would have already gotten him imo. Reek came out of nowhere and Chubb too. We're good at rb is my position and I believe the teams thinks so too.

Which back do you think fits Miami's need and style the best, Taylor, Cook, Jacobs or Barkley? All four are good backs, I think I might prefer Barkley

Great minds think alike.

Why's Clancy lying?

He made those figures up. Not even close to accurate.

What a fool.

We have a ton of money in 2025 and 2026. And thats with a lot of players still on the books that won't even be here.
He may have exaggerated some of the numbers a tad. However, the thrust of Simon Clancy's argument is still totally valid. The Dolphins future expenditure will rocket in the future and we don't need another big recipient in JT to add to the future bill (he won't just come here because he likes the team colors - he wants to be paid long term). Jonathon Taylor is a very good RB, but the NFL is structured such that teams cannot pay top $ at all positions - priorities have to be made at certain positions. The Miami Dolphins have been fiscally responsible for many years and we shouldn't flush that philosophy down the toilet for short term expediency. Pretty sure that Stephen Ross would agree with me.
We need to lock down Wilkins, Tua, Holland, Phillips, Waddle, et al in the future. I'd also like to keep some of the next tier of players like Raekwon Davis, Zach Sieler and Durham Smythe, etc as well.

McD isn’t replacing his two SF guys that he wanted resigned this offseason. They know his system, happy in a RB by committee system, good contract value, etc.

Grass isn’t always greener.

With regards to team fit and possible production, how does Taylor compare vs. Cook?
Good question. Taylor's size + top end speed make him ideal for OZ.

Cook was a sound fit as well though. Did have some off the field baggage.

Taylor a more physically imposing presence. Could pay dividens late in the year.
