DTs who produce sacks and actual metrics. Being a leader of a team doesn't guarantee salary. Wilkins is a good not great player. Better than average. Would be fine with 6-10 money not 1-5. I'm sure most here agree.I don't think we are? There's a reason why DTs get $100 million deals. Guys like Wilkins don't grow on trees, and not to mention he's the heart and soul of our Defense.
I can't agree with that, I think it's the exact opposite. Winning teams invest in the trenches. Loser teams invest in RBs.I promise you, JT would have more impact on the Win-Loss chances than CW.
DT's outside of Aaron Donald just dont impact the chances of winning as much as a great RB.
True, he doesn't get the sacks, but off the top of my head, wasn't he a Top 3 DT in run stopping last year? Wilkins makes a huge impact despite the lack of measurable stats. He's one of those "you don't know what you got until it's gone" kind of guys. But I do agree, 6-10 range is fair and I think that's what he'll get.DTs who produce sacks and actual metrics. Yes, in a 3-4 you get LBers as pass rushers.I can't agree with that, I think it's the exact opposite. Winning teams invest in the trenches. Loser teams invest in RBs.
I disagree with this because I don't trust any of our DT's behind Wilkins/Seiler to be anything more than rotational players. If we lose Wilkins and have to rely on Pilli/Hand to play starting snaps we will be in trouble.I promise you, JT would have more impact on the Win-Loss chances than CW.

Edit: I also think Sieler is vastly underrated. I struggle to see a major drop off in production at that spot.
Good question coming off Ankle Surgery in January.... We cannot afford past mistakes of superstars we get and have them go down! Will wait to see what comes out of physical. But it would certainly be nice to have JT. We were tied for least amount of rushing yards last year I beleive. Is he healthy

Do we really need a high priced RB?

it depends on what they have to give upDoes adding Taylor make us a better team? Yes or no?
Nothing any of those teams did in the past has any bearing on our season this year.
That may be true too, but the DT market is still what it is. Teams value DTs and the Colts would walk away with a **** eating grin if they bagged Wilkins for Taylor. I'm not saying we couldn't survive without Wilkins, but it would be a significant loss. And if we let him go to pay Taylor? Well...that would confirm we are a poorly managed organization.I think your ignoring the desperation factor.
Commanders, Giants, Titans (Simmons is worth it anyway) have no choice but to pay those DT’s in order to compete with their current squads. None of those teams have high impact offenses or elite QBs (sorry RT17).
Eagles had to let Javon Hargrave walk despite his epic season.
Where as the Niners need Hargrave to help counter the lack of QB talent.
