I get that he may of acquiesced to Flores on the pick however that pick overall was under his power so when it’s time to evaluate his job that goes on him

This is THE trade that we need to make happen. This is not Dalvin Cook on the end of his prime, this is the best RB in football.

Idk about THE best RB in football, but he's up there. He's from my home town of Salem and the guy was beloved here. His High School games drew an impressive crowd, especially since South Jersey doesn't exactly produce a ton of pros. As much as I want to trade for him, I don't see it happening...

Because a GM can not be at every practice and analyze film of every player on the roster, AND do his job acquiring and signing players.

He has to rely on the coaching staff as far as which guys fit, and where we need help.

If a coach says to him that they are good at WR but could use a TE, why would the GM acquire a WR? To spite the coach?

No. The GM and coach need to work in conjunction building the team.

Ultimately he has to make the call on the player, it’s his ass on the line

If he’s convicted about a player he has to veto the move if he doesn’t believe the player has the goods.

And I gurantee he watch the film on every player

The funny thing is, I'm pretty sure the posts complaining about the Cook thread could be turned into an equally annoying thread.

I understand why this thread and the Cook thread are on this forum since it has been reported that the Dolphins seem to have interest in both players. I just never thought Cook would end up with the Dolphins because of the money he wanted. That is also the same reason I don’t see Taylor ending up with the Dolphins.

He wants too much money, along with likely having to give up too many draft picks for him. That makes him a player I just don’t see Miami trading for.

Yes, and we likely want to pay $11M and give up a 3rd rounder.

The Colts don't have leverage. At the end of the day, its going to be a supply/demand situation.

If the Bears are legitimately interested, as they should be, then its a no-brainer outcome for Indy and Taylor. Surely Chicago would make the most sense in terms of dollars for Taylor and compensation for Indy.

If the Bears aren't involved, someone is going to get a steal here.

We were 25th in rushing last year and 19th in yards per attempt. Who have we added to make this into a very good unit?

They added Achane which should help. The reason they were 25th in rushing last year had a lot more to do with the OL than it did the running backs. Put the Dolphin running backs on the Eagles and the Eagles would still be one of the top rushing teams in the league because they have a great offensive line.

Taylor is a perfect fit and Cook was a maybe.

Taylor is a 4.39 back, that does 1 cut and goes down hill with power. That's exactly what you want in an outside zone.

You can't really include Cedrick Wilson unless you're planning to eat a big portion of his salary. Its a pipe dream to think they'd take on $11M in salary for the two Wilson's and trade away the $4.3M salary of Taylor.

Indy's going to want a player who will still be around in 2 years. I don't think either of the Wilson's fit the bill.
