Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

The fact they even agreed to trade him simply shows they understand he no longer wants to play for them. So in that respect Taylor has some power to force a possible trade.

Yet he is still under contract to the Colts and even if he wants to play for the Dolphins, the Colts are going to do what is best for them if they do trade him. So when it comes to trading him to the team that offers them the best deal for Taylor, the Colts hold all the power.

Taylor can obviously decide to sit out the year and not get paid. I doubt the Colts would put him on IR because that would mean he would be paid the entire season for not playing.

I agree with you that this is the year they can get the greatest trade value for him. That is also why I think him coming to the Dolphins is less certain. Because the Colts need to get as much value for him while they can and I’m not sure the Dolphins are the team that can offer them the best deal for Taylor. I guess we just have to wait and see how this plays out.
Keep an eye on the Eagles, they would be unstoppable. He'll be traded imo, disgruntled stars are an annoyance, they usually find a new home.

Would you give up a first and ogbah for Taylor and a 3rd??
I would give up Ogbah and a third in 2025 but not the trade scenario you suggested. The Dolphins have no 3rd round pick next year. So the Colts would get Ogbah and just have to wait until 2025 to get a 3rd round pick from the Dolphins.

I doubt the Colts for go for this trade but that would be my best offer if they wanted Ogbah as part of the trade.

I don't believe his contract is fully guaranteed. He would not be due full compensation on IR if that was the case. And I'm pretty sure if he claims to be injured they would be required to IR him. Don't quote me on that one though, someone may know more than I on that.

I see where this is going...it will come out that he wants to play for the Fins, and will wind up signing with the Bills
A friend of mine who is a bills fan said there are strong rumors that they are getting involved. Take it for what it’s worth at this point.

all day long without the first but that's a fleecing by us and won't happen, way too low

He is arguably the best back, def top 3 so I would imagine there will be competition. No team is getting him at a bargain basement cost.

Agreed, and although my friend gets his bills info from reporters just like we do I can totally believe the bills would slide in on this and do what it takes to improve their team and keep Taylor away from us. At this point they have to be a little threatened by all our offseason moves
