Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Keep an eye on the Eagles, they would be unstoppable. He'll be traded imo, disgruntled stars are an annoyance, they usually find a new home.
I agree the Eagles are a very real possibility and they can probably offer a better deal than the Dolphins. They have two second round picks in the 2024 draft as well as their own first round pick. They also have several players the Colts might be interested in if the Colts decide they want a starter along with a high draft pick for Taylor.

Putting Taylor on the Eagles would make them the best team in the entire league, IMO. Hopefully it doesn’t happen but it’s very possible it can happen.

I believe we might have a “perception” advantage over Buffalo and Philly, one I wish that we honestly didn’t. On the surface most people would suspect our picks to hold more potential value as the result of Tua’s injury history.

Looking at the Eagles as the closest thing to a SB lock, works against them here. Ditto for the perception that Bufffalo is already a great contender.

Agreed, and although my friend gets his bills info from reporters just like we do I can totally believe the bills would slide in on this and do what it takes to improve their team and keep Taylor away from us. At this point they have to be a little threatened by all our offseason moves
and the Jets too. I think we'll be left in the dust here unless Grier antes up significantly...not saying he should or shouldn't but some team will

I don't believe his contract is fully guaranteed. He would not be due full compensation on IR if that was the case. And I'm pretty sure if he claims to be injured they would be required to IR him. Don't quote me on that one though, someone may know more than I on that.
He was a first round draft pick who is only in his 4th year in the league. So I would assume he would be entitled to his full salary if they place him on IR for the entire season.

The only contribution you make is one to a septic tank.

Wouldn’t expect anything less from you. No substance.

But seriously what are you going to do now that training camp is over and you have to post original content?

For future reference, I do live in a trailer park with my mom.

I'm not sure if that's the case? If Taylor willingly sits, he hasn't accrued the 4 seasons required to become an UFA. The Colts could slap an RFA Tag on Taylor which would be worse for him, if they wanted to play dirty. Lower money tag and forces a team to trade a 1st for him if they want him. I'm an idiot so I could be wrong, but I believe that's how the UFA vs RFA works...
He would just have to say his ankle still hurts. He's already on the PUP so it would be pretty easy.

If we do a Wilkins for Taylor swap, we better be getting their 2nd too. I’m not joking.
I really don’t believe they have any interest in making Wilkins part of a trade for Taylor. I think they want to resign Wilkins and make him a part of the team for several years to come.

and they would really have to love Wilkins cause they'd be on the hook for 15-20 mil per year to keep him playing

all day long without the first but that's a fleecing by us and won't happen, way too low
That’s why I stated I don’t see the Colts accepting that offer. I think they likely want a first round pick for Taylor but may be forced to take a 2nd round pick and a player for Taylor if they want to trade him by next Tuesday.

I do find it funny how any report is instantly met by some version of "he's a nobody" or "he doesn't know anything" by the same group.

The consensus I saw from various polls (GMs, insiders and such) was that Taylor's value was a second day pick and third day pick. The first round demand was posturing. The only people who gave that any chance of happening were those who keep claiming Miami isn't really looking for a RB.
