Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Because a dominate RB like Taylor probably wouldn’t be as effective in an offense like that if the QB is taking off running all the time.

You say this having no idea how much Justin Fields hates running the ball himself. He loathes it.

But ya, you try completing passes to Equanimeous. St. Brown, Dante Pettis, Byron Pringle and N’Keal Harry.

A lot of people will be surprised.

Just saw this -" I heard this from a friend of a friend" - I dont trust anything Bill Gates is involved with so grain of salt...

The Indianapolis Colts may be close to finding a trade partner for star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Stephen D. Daniels of Miami Sports Music claims to have heard from a reliable source that the Miami Dolphins are in Indianapolis to see Taylor take a physical. Daniels hears the trade compensation will be second and seventh-round pick

My man. That was from yesterday and Taylor was physically in Philly for the game. People really need to check their sources unless they are all just circle jerking it.

Mostert and Wilson averaged over 4.5 ypc last year, Gaskin 3.5 ypc in the years he started but almost had 1000 total yards in '21, and Ahmed looks like he's elevated his game. All of them combined cheaper than 1 yr of Taylor.

That's cool. Taylor missing multiple games was at 4.5, before that 5.5 and 5.0 with 18 and 11 TDs. How many did our RBs have last year? Year before? There is no comparison between the mediocrity we are running and Taylor hence the compensation required for it.

hence, just saw this,,,but thanks. You need to just move along and not comment.

I agree and I like OURr RBS honestly. I'm a big Mostert guy.

But if preseason is any indication, Miami will be running more.

MM is looking at the following:

#1 RB IS 31 years old. Only played a full season once in his career. Only has 1 season with over 137 carries. Many injuries.

#2 RB is already hurt. Has never played a full season. Has never had a non injury season.

#3 RB- PROMISING rookie, but undersized. Already has had 2 injuries in as many weeks.

Yea, this group, together are great. But when 1 goes down not 1 can be counted on to pick up the slack. None of them are suddenly going on a 4 game span averaging 25 touches a game.

So you look at guys like Cook, Jacob's, Taylor etc. And coach is seeing available RBS that don't need a side kick to be productive. They can get 20+ touches a game etc.

So I am sure MM is very eager to upgrade. Doesn't mean they'll make a bad deal to do it though.
Thanks for breaking it down, this should be obvious to all here. I’ll add that protecting Tua with better balance on offense is actually quite important and will make his life easier in the passing game Not to mention protecting leads which we may have from time to time with Fangio now running our D.

That's oversimplifying things. Taylor has proven he can be the focus of an offense. Mostert and Wilson are just role players.

Grier will lowball offers, but that won't get Taylor. Let's move on

Have seen a few people going with this angle and it’s puzzling. We gave up a 1, 2, 4, 4, 6 for Tyreek. In that same season we turned around at the trade deadline and gave up a 1 & 4 for Chubb.

Grier literally traded two firsts and a 2nd in one calendar year….. lowballer though?

If we acquire Jonathan Taylor, then that’s Taylor, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, and Jalen Ramsey all in two off seasons/trade deadline. Incredible.

Yeah, Grier is more a value guy. I'm sure he's very good at poker. The man knows when to hold or let go.
