How many examples of great RBs and great QBs playing together are there besides Lynch and Dillon where it’s viewed as anything but a positive?

Dillon had a huge season with the patriots but you can’t compare him at that point to Taylor at this point in his career. Dillion had played 7 years and was coming off a year where he ran for 540 yards in 13 games. He also only had one really good year for the patriots.

But there are 17 games and playoffs before that. All of which contribute to getting and competing in the super bowl.

My point is looking at the leading rusher for that 1 game is not telling the whole story of making and winning the Super Bowl. Players impact the game in many ways not always seen on the stat sheet.

For sure, I agree with you, I was just responding to that post regarding Super Bowl RB stats. It wasn't really an argument one way or another.

The way I look at this situation is as follows:

If we can pull JT from Indy for a 2nd and a 7th, great move. Pay him what he’s worth and we have a deadly offense in ‘23.

If we can’t get him for that. Move on. The time to have acquired JT was when we used the stupid ****ing pick on Iggy. That time is now gone.

Roll with what we have and let’s see how far we go.

6% of the 2023 salary cap would be $13.5m, more than the $12m Jacobs just got paid. From that respect you absolutely can compare the two and @The Ghost is absolutely right to use Dillon as proof that Brady did indeed have a premier running back - from a salary perspective - at the Patriots.
