This is just wrong.
From the NFL itself:
Accrued seasons: Used to determine a player's free agency status (unrestricted, restricted, exclusive rights). In order to accrue a season, a player must have been on (or should have been on*) full-play status for at least six regular-season games in a given season. A player under contract must report to his team's training camp on his mandatory reporting date in order to earn an accrued season. If player holds out his services for a "material period of time," he is also at risk of not accruing a season.
*When I write "or should have been on," note that this is the language used in the CBA. Basically, in order to accrue a season, the player needs to be on the team's active/inactive list, injured reserve or reserve PUP for at least six regular-season games in a given season.
We already have a large thread on the Taylor subjectTaylor, Jacobs want money close to top of market value. McCaffery makes 14 million a year. History shows paying a RB that much money is not the way to win a Superbowl.

JUST SAY NO TO PAYING RUNNINGBACKS BIG MONEY!
So you think the Colts will keep JT on the PUP list with a fake injury they made up? Just trying to understand.Correct!
Conveniently, Taylor's already on the PUP list
He reportedly wants 18/mil. That is nuts. There is no way I am giving a RB that kind of money,I'll take Taylor everyday and anyday to make this team better.

If the injury is real it’s likely not football related at this point. So he would be moved to NFI. If it is real then it’s his ankle from last year that should be well healed now. A team that pays him long term would be a fool to do so before he sets foot back on the field. Which of course is parts of the Colts stance. If you think he will fake an ankle injury all year to get credit then it would likely go to arbitration and either outcome damages JTs ability to demand a large contract. He’s either injured or malingering.

Ok, so you have Pierre Thomas for 2009 when Reggie Bush was making 10.5M. You have Percy Harvin instead Lynch. You only have base salary and not bonuses included. Ray Rice made 5 million in 2012 $2m base and $3m prorated bonus. I'm not going to check each one but your chart is crap and full of errors on the few that I fact-checked. Shouldn't the chart list the highest-paid HB on the team and not just base salary? Seems disingenuous.Taylor, Jacobs want money close to top of market value. McCaffery makes 14 million a year. And you left out the parts differentiating between a football and a non football related injury. That’s the point - if JT is legit still injured and it’s an ankle injury that should have been healed, then yes he would get credit for PUP. So are the Colts idiots for holding off on extending him early if he has a lingering injury that won’t heal?
If he’s injured and it’s his back or anything else then it’s most likely not football related and no he would not get credit unless he is available for 6 games.teams do interviews and medical exams at end of season. They know what was football related.
If he is faking his injury then he has to fake an ankle injury and this will likely be going to arbitration. But the idea that Irsay made up an injury for him and he is going to be able to milk that all year and get (which is what I have been commenting on) is just absurd and wrong. There are several ways this can play out but I guarantee you JT staying on PUP for 17 games and getting paid is not one unless the guys ankle is falling off. Which would just make JT a bigger ass for his stance. And would keep him from getting paid big by anyone.
Who is trying to claim the phantom back injury? My “guess” of the situation is that he’s healthy enough to play but his ankle is degenerative. That’s typically why people seek treatment away from the day for 2-3 days. Stem cell in Europe. That’s what manning did.Yeah, he's still trying to claim that "phantom back injury" is possibly true.
Even though Taylor completely trashed that notion and Irsay immediately backed off.
The irony considering he's claiming others of making stuff up
But hey, you never know
