Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

I think a better way to say this is that for the last 20 or so years, teams haven’t won the Superbowl with regular season offenses that were predicated around the running game. If JT were to come here, I doubt the Dolphins recipe for success would be to have Taylor be an 1500 yard a year rusher.

But we're not getting a Ferrari for 30k.

Were in cap hell next year and you guys wanna pay for a Ferrari when clearly by the chart in this thread shows a Altima is what wins Super Bowls not Ferraris.

AND you wanna buy all the maintenence packages and extra dealership fees in the form of draft picks to get this "Ferrari"
Bro relax. You’re generally just yelling up and down the forum nodding your finger at everyone.

Ps: I have made zero posts in favor of adding to the RB room, I’m just explaining why when a highly regarded player (at any position) is connected to the fins, it is NORMAL for people to get excited.

As I said, you’re basically yelling at people for nothing… it’s an extremely small minority of people who have been banging the table for a RB outside of these specific scenarios of them being endlessly dangled in front of the fins.

It appears someone is just trying to increase his followers but probably has zero information as to what is actually happening.
The problem with the internet is anyone can post something and claim they have inside information.
Exactly. This guy with 5,600 followers is in the know with his "sources" but the NFL Insiders who get paid to do this have no information. Total BS artist. Maybe he gets lucky and they do trade him to Fins, but it will have nothing to do with sources that were confirmed to him.

I tend to agree with you. BUT, our very own finphan54 has inside sources and he has zero followers on X that I know of. So, you never know.

Nobody is saying Irsay faked an injury for Taylor to stay on PUP

He made the phantom back injury up for the potential transition to NFI in a threat that's what they would do to Taylor if he held out or tried to not play

There is no back Injury. Only the ankle
brumdog44 said exactly that and you liked it. That’s what I started replying to.
If Schefter is correct and the Colts won't be trading Taylor, I'm not sure they are going to see Taylor play for them this year. The Colts screwed themselves but making up an injury for Taylor. Perfect out for him to sit back, say he's hurt, collect his $5 million and force their hand again at the trade deadline or in the offseason.

And you left out the parts differentiating between a football and a non football related injury. That’s the point - if JT is legit still injured and it’s an ankle injury that should have been healed, then yes he would get credit for PUP. So are the Colts idiots for holding off on extending him early if he has a lingering injury that won’t heal?

If he’s injured and it’s his back or anything else then it’s most likely not football related and no he would not get credit unless he is available for 6 games.teams do interviews and medical exams at end of season. They know what was football related.

If he is faking his injury then he has to fake an ankle injury and this will likely be going to arbitration. But the idea that Irsay made up an injury for him and he is going to be able to milk that all year and get (which is what I have been commenting on) is just absurd and wrong. There are several ways this can play out but I guarantee you JT staying on PUP for 17 games and getting paid is not one unless the guys ankle is falling off. Which would just make JT a bigger ass for his stance. And would keep him from getting paid big by anyone.
This statement is wrong:

"He doesn’t get credit in the final year of his deal unless he’s available for 6 games. If he stays on PUP all year he still owes the Colts a year under contract."

That's what I corrected you on.

No QB from Texas Tech had ever won a Superbowl, but that didn't stop the Chiefs from drafting Mahomes.

The point? Past performance has no bearing on the future.

Signing Taylor makes us a better team. Making us a better team increases our chances of winning the Superbowl. Period.

No, they will not keep him on PUP.for the fake back injury Irsay made up.

He is already on PUP for his ankle injury. He needs to be taken off PUP. There will be no arbitration. The Colts will have to prove Taylor is faking still being hurt.

Again, Irsay screwed this up by threatening the NFI with the back injury claim. Trust me, the NFL and players took notice of that threat.

Good luck to Irsay trying to fight Taylor's ankle Injury, which was a real I jury landing him on PUP.
Ok a couple things:

Please show me where Irsay said anything about NFI.

Also show me what injuries JT reported during his physical before camp.

Basically your take is that you believe everything good from JT and everything bad from the Colts. That’s it. You have nothing to say except JT good, Colts bad.

The one thing we agree on is the belief JTs ankle is still an issue. However if you believe that then how is the Colts position unreasonable? You want to pay a RB $12-15m a year for 3-5 years when he has a a lingering ankle injury that should have healed 6 months ago? Do believe the reports he sought stem cell treatment the same way you do the anonymous suggestion the Colts we’re considering NFI?

Imo the league has shifted from the bellcow back but to me it doesn’t mean you can’t win with one.

So many variables come into play. How many high paid rbs were on truly SB worthy teams?
Was one on the losing team?
Was there one on a good team derailed by injuries?
Did their QB **** the bed in the playoffs?

You are correct - it should say NFI, not PUP. I see no scenario he stays on PUP all year unless his ankle is falling off. In which case everything else is moot.

Ok, so you have Pierre Thomas for 2009 when Reggie Bush was making 10.5M. You have Percy Harvin instead Lynch. You only have base salary and not bonuses included. Ray Rice made 5 million in 2012 $2m base and $3m prorated bonus. I'm not going to check each one but your chart is crap and full of errors on the few that I fact-checked. Shouldn't the chart list the highest-paid HB on the team and not just base salary? Seems disingenuous.
eh, how far have the Titans gotten with CJ2k and now Derrick Henry? 49ers and CMC(Panthers too)? Zeke? Aaron Jones? Sure a great Rb is nice to have, but a standout Rb doesn't harbor much advantage over 3rd round rookie. Chiefs had Pachecko. Rams had sony michel- 1st rounder but no way a great rb. And yeah that list is a little misleading, but even with those execeptions...they didn't lead the team in rushing during the SB. And without those execptions? The winning team(and even the loser in most cases) didn't have a top 5 RB.

Taylor, Jacobs want money close to top of market value. McCaffery makes 14 million a year. History shows paying a RB that much money is not the way to win a Superbowl.

JUST SAY NO TO PAYING RUNNINGBACKS BIG MONEY!

Please stop posting misinformation. This is highly flawed using only base salary. Technically Hill’s base salary is 1.1 million however he counts 12 million against the cap.

Some major lies in this include

2018 Sony Michel listed at 480k when he made 5.5 million

2013 listed Percy Harvin who played one game and isn’t even a rb. Marshawn Lynch made 10 million that year.

2012 Ray Rice made 17 million, not 2 million…

2011 Ahmad Bradshaw made 6.5 million, not 1.5 million…
