Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Phinfan54 has definitely earned his credibility. The Packers just seems like such a weird destination though.

Especially on a “bidding war”’when do the Packers ever make a big splash?

I could see this as a way to protect their young Qb by keeping the rock on the ground.

But agreed still weird for them!

JT might help with the team success more IF the OL can block better in the running game. Yet I am looking at what would benefit the team more over the coming years and I believe resigning Wilkins will be better in the long run.

If a team has a decent run blocking OL, the offense can have a productive running game with good but not great RB’s. So I think the RB’s now on the Dolphins can be very productive if the OL improves this coming season.

Finding a top tier DT is much harder, IMO. All you have to do is look at how easily the Jaguar runners ran through the interior of the Dolphins defense on Saturday without Wilkins and Sieler in the lineup.

While I believe that Taylor would be a nice addition to the offense. If the Dolphins only have the money to pay one of them. I would prefer they resign Wilkins over trading for Taylor and giving him the money.
Just in a one season vacuum - who you got? Top3 RB vs a top10 DT…

I think I’m taking Taylor the more I think about it… again… not 4 year investment, draft picks, blah blah… just as an excitement of one season effectiveness.

I am not convinced Taylor is fully recovered from his ankle surgery. I also have no desire to see Wilkins possibly leave the Dolphins in free agency.

I certainly understand the desire to have a healthy Taylor in the Dolphins backfield but I guess I am fine With the RB’s now on the roster and don’t see RB as a big need at this time.

Now if they were trying to trade for a top 3 offensive lineman, then I would be excited about trading for that player.
