Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Thats the franchise tag number to tag a DT. Average of the top 5 players at that position.

Darnold 31 mil
Williams 24 mil
Simmons 23.5 mil
Payne 22.5 mil
Lawrence 22.5 mil

It's actually 24.7 if your calculating it off 2023 salaries. 23 mil was an estimate bc I think Daronlds contract goes down next year. I could be wrong.

DT$20,878,000$16,732,000

Necessary evil to have a great roster with great players. All vg teams deal with it. It's why winning it all when in win mode is so important.

That's the thing, there doesn't need to be a lot of restructures.

Cutting Howard and extending Tua, for example would put us under the cap most likely (Barring of course the full details of Tuas contract)

These contracts are structured perfectly to have outs.

Some are worried about losing players.

Let's put it this way. Would you rather hold on to guys like Ogbah, Armstead, Howard for 4 more years, or would you rather use the outs their contracts provide to be able to extend guys like Waddle, Phillips Holland.

The players Miami will most likely lose to extend our core players were players most likely NOT expected to be on the team 3 years from now.

The way I understand the PUP rule is Taylor would have to sit out at least the first 4 games of the season unless he is activated from PUP before the Colts cut down to their final 53.

I assume he would still have to sit out those 4 games if he is traded and he was on the Colts PUP list after the finale cut down but I’m not sure. Hopefully someone who understands the PUP rule better than I do can let us know what happens to Taylor if he remains on the Colts PUP list and is traded after the final cutdown.

Yes and maybe one or two of the top dawgs will be traded for picks and replaced with a similar body costing less with like or close production. It is what good teams do. Reek out, Pacheco in, easy for a quality Gm and I think we have one although we'll see.
