Colts Shopping Mike Doss?????

Why would he not fit our defensive schemes?

I think Doss wouldn t fit on our defensive Schemes. Let the Colts keep him

Why? Is it his speed. He fits the description of a least a couple of the safties currently on the roster (Williams and Bigby). Just curious why you think that?

I know we have a SS already with Jones, but the thing is, I think that Jones at FS is better than any of the FS's we have right now even though Jones isnt as good play FS as he is SS. He was a serviceable (not great)FS on the Saints. Hypotheticlly, if we were to aquire Doss and put him at SS and have Jones play FS, I think it would be alot better than with Jones at SS and Tillman at FS. Just my opinion though... thoughts?

While I'm not yet ready to annoint Saban as Jimmy Johnson-lite just yet.....his personel descisions are starting to look similar. Now....Saban has not gone to the lenghts yet that JJ did saying "whatever it takes" and "if you want to be great you have to take great chances"....a trade of a pickup of Doss would certainly be a move in that direction.

I certainly don't want to end up with a team of choir boys but I also don't want a team with characters like the Broncos, Baltimore or TB (except for a certain TB linebacker who's one of the best people in the NFL). Granted, I think Saban took too much heat for signing the kid who was actually served time for the rape charge but many more signings like that OR of higher profile players of that type (Doss) won't sit well with me.

As for the JJ comparisons...I pray Saban is nothing like him. I have always said he was a horrible hire....his game planning was horrible, couldn't make half-time adjustments, VERY questionable player signings (Collins, Phillips, etc.) and left us in even worse salary cap situation than Shula did when he tried to load up fora last run.

Sorry that drifted to a JJ bash.....Back on topic....I have no interest in Doss. I'm stated many many times safety is a position I value for our team but I'm not willing to go after Doss just because we don't have a good starting FS. Besides...I believe SS is OK for us, it's FS that needs help and if I'm not mistaken Doss is a SS.

The whole Mike Doss gun arrest thing really surprised me, because out of all the players I did signings with in New Jersey in April, he was the most laid back and nicest. (and to least "thug")

Now I dont know how many players actually have guns, but I would imagine a few do, some with permits and others without, and I dont think either way it makes you a bad person, perhaps a little bit of carelessness.

Anyways Mike Doss is a great guy even though he is a buckeye, and his team robbed the Canes, but I dont know if he is neccessarily a good fit for our team. If he were cut I would love to bring him in though. =)

the guy is too slowwwww hes no good Trust me id rather keep wat we have instead of mr Doss

SS isn't the need at the moment...FS is a need however. Doss is a SS...doesn't seem like a smart match to me...

Our defense will be hitting an alltime low When we start picking up mediocre Colts Defensive players. This is the team that gives up 30+pts every playoff game we dont need their defense leftovers. Now if Freeny is available...other than that forget it.
