The deal includes $11 million guaranteed. In desperate need of a steadying presence next to Jerrell Freeman, the Colts have overpaid for linebacker help in free agency once again. This time they add a leader and one of the game's most prolific tacklers, but one that is entering his age-31 season, fits better in a 4-3 scheme and has struggled badly against the run over the last two years. Jackson also had visits with the Titans, Broncos and Dolphins. -rotoworld

Well at least we won't overpay for him! Draft baby!

yea me, personally id try and get Monroe, and a guard in free agency and FS. draft needs to focus on rb, RT,RG and Linebacker

Whew! Dodged a bullet there! Now we can spend more cash on good players.

Pat Angerer should be available in FA. Most of the Colts fan say that he is a more ideal fit for a 4-3.

Ryan Grigson, Colts GM, has really struggled. His first year, he drafted Andy Luck, but a monkey could have done that. The Colts turned around quickly and Grigson was hailed. But it was smoke and mirrors. He's overpaid for Jackson and guys like Greg Toler. Bjoern Werner was an awful fit for their defense. The Vontae Davis and Trent Richardson trades were significant overpays. When Andy Luck is up for his big cintract, the Colts will be strapped for cash too. Overall, Grigson has really struggled with decision making.

Our locker room crap this year, is directly responsible for us not sealing the deal on quality ***ents. That mess is going to hurt us all this year. :bricks:

I don't think we really know that yet. Jackson signing with the Colts does not prove that as he also turned down the Broncos and Titans.

I honestly don't think last year's lockeroom drama among guys no longer with the team are going to turn off free agents.

You maybe correct. But don't be surprised if we also offered Jackson an extremely large amount and were ultimately beaten by Indy. If Miami, Tennessee and Denver offered around $20M it's probably not a big difference. Grigson may have overpaid, but he got the man he wanted in a highly competitive market. Yes, I agree that Indy appears to have overpaid, but I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this as a bad decision. DQwell Jackson makes an incredible number of tackles and is very consistent.

what do you guys think about trading down from pick #19 because this is suppose to be a very deep class

We haven't failed to sign a quality FA yet.

The Colts are going to be BIG, BIG spenders.
