So, Ive been hearing so much talk about these guys in preseason and articles written about how absolute garbage these guys are.

But I havent heard much on these guys after this game. what gives?

Columbo got ****ed the whole game. Carey did well. But you havent heard that because the defense had their worse showing ever.

Edit: Richie Incognito ****ing blows!

Bigger fish to fry.

They looked like all-pros compared to the defense.

it wasnt as bad as it could have been but the New England pass rush isnt exactly dominant either, it is something to work on, I say with some more time together they can def improve on their performance

Carey wasn't bad. Colombo while not bad at first started to get really bad towards the end when Miami was trying to score again on that last drive.

NE defense not dominant in pass rush? tell that one to BB and he would prob crap his pants in practice getting one. but he is not cus he knows how to get to the QB.

u sure about that? wanna pick the play out? Not saying he didnt screw up I just dont think you know for sure. he certainly wasnt garbage. i can tell you that.

On the last drive when the clock ran out on Miami...Colombo was beat badly two consecutive plays and Henne was sacked. That basically killed the drive along with Marshall cramping cause Miami was looking they were going to score again to make it 38-31.

they were pretty dominant against us, even tho it doesnt seem that way cause we put up some big yards. henne got his *** beat! wilfork smoked him. nincovich smoked him. off the top of my head. nincovich (who we didnt think was as good as quentin moses - even tho nincovich could pressure the qb - guess we didnt figure maybe that meant something at the time) beat jake long twice one on one in the game. our pro bowl left tackle got beat by a guy that wasnt good enough to play for miami but is somehow good enough to start for new england in not only their previous 3-4 alignment - but also in their new 4-3 alignment. its a joke. according to profootballfocus henne was pressured on 47% of his passes. thats ridiculous. and columbo was the 5th worst rated tackle in the entire league after week one. but of course we was terrible in dallas last year, and terrible in the preseason.

but our guys are smart enough to figure out that somehow that will change for us. wait till he sees mario williams. guess well 2 guys on one all day - im sure that will help our offensive efficiency next week.

our line isnt getting heat only because our defense was HISTORICALLY BAD. think about that

that may be true, i didnt really watch columbo closely enough. Did the sack stop us? I believe we stopped ourselves at the GL. twice.

You see, a guy can have a pretty good game but everyone focuses on one or two plays. That to me is the real problem. You win some you lose some. and as someone pointed out. Long also whiffed. It happens.

I just find it interesting that the columbo/carey talk faded and the problem became something else.

I must say, I think my view of Colombo and Carey in the game is tempered a bit, because I was expecting a disaster, and considering that they surprised me. I thought they did half decent. My view might change had I not been expecting garbage though. I didn't critique every play, but the ones I did, I actually saw Carey doing some good things in pass protections, and Colombo was usually keeping his guy off Henne just long enough for Henne to get the ball out....I think Henne's quicker release helped big time there. Looks like they won't be that good, but tolerable. Performance did seems to drop off a bit at the end in the hurry up offense. Looks likes the whole team could stand to be in better shape and condition.

This sort of things kills me. Like a Lt for instance, who goes up against an elite pass rusher all day...holds him off on all but one play, and the day is looked at like "well the pass rusher got the best of that Tackle today"...I get it...but it doesn't quite seem fair.
