After watching Nublar's video of the 2005 season (for the 5th time) I'm comfortable with Frerotte as our 2006 QB. He made some damn good throws, he won our last 7 games (i don't wanna hear "Sage won us some of those"), and It's the first year Chris Chambers went to the pro bowl (and you heard the announcers say "this guy has played at a pro bowl level for the last 3 years, he's been through 5 offensive coordinators, 3 head coaches.....") So what has Gus not done besides- Bring a 7 game winning streak to us (when we couldn't win any games in December for the longest time), Finally get C.C. into the pro-bowl, and give us hope for 2006? IMHO Gus will do just fine for us. I don't post much but I thought after watchin the 2005 highlight video (thanks Nublar) that we will do just fine with Gus at the Helm. Can't wait til next year fellas!!!!! :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

Chambers had his best games when Sage came in. :D

Never ever make a value judgement based on a highlight film.

Any particular reason you don't want to hear that? Truth aversion? Sage won two of them.

If Sage didn't come in and win those games, we'd end up at 7-9 and you wouldn't find a Frerotte fan on here.

And Sage also was the one that ignited Chambers and started his emergence.

Gus was terrible. He has always been not good and now he is 34 and not good. You don;t get to be the 28th ranked QB in football by playing well.

And those last seven games you're talking about? Gus had FOUR bad games in that stretch. FOUR out of seven.

We won in spite of Gus, not because of him.

Not to be picky man, but if you watched the videos 5 times - you should've realized that it was a 6 game streak, not seven. And yes, 2 of those games were all thanks to Sage to count them as victories. So I guess you must have missed why Gus is at the bottom of the septic tank of NFL QBs this past year. I don't get what games people are watching - Anyone with two eyes can see that Frerotten is a HORRIBLE QB! But let the excuses keep pouring in on how capable he is, and we'll see if we end up with the same exact win-loss record next year, and not make it in to the playoffs once again, see how many will sing the praise of the mighty "bang my head on the wall" Gus Frerotten!!! This year he is getting a break because it was a "rebuilding year" suppossedly and we were all getting over the trauma of a 4-12 season. Next year will be a different story if this team does not improve, cause it's what we all want. And with Frerotten as the starting QB, I highly doubt this team will improve or go to the playoffs!!!

And the Gus bashing continues on and on and on..........

At least we know what we have with Gus. He may not win games but I don't think he loses them either like a couple of QB's that come to mind.

I know what. Let's draft a rookie and lets him start even though he hasn't played one down in the NFL. :shakeno: <sighs>

Man, the thing is that Frerotte DID play better as a starter than any QB we've had since Marino, BUT that's not exactly saying very much. It's not hard to outperform some of the worst QB's in the league. So did Frerotte play better than other QB's we've had in the past, and help Chambers out a lot........YES, but can we find somebody Much better to take Chambers to an even higher level..........YES!!!!

It's not really about bashing. That's just an ad hominem comment.

Reality 1: You can't judge a guy based on a highlight film. How about a "lowlight" film - all the throws where he missed open receivers! Then, let's see if the same guy is comfortable with Gus!

Reality 2: Gus had a lot of bad plays that either cost us games or kept us from putting away teams earlier. And, his passer rating was just plain bad.

There is no doubt that if Miami wants to start to press for a SB - they will have to get an upgrade at QB. And, that's not Gus bashing. It's just a fact.

To be consisistent with the "Gus bashing" you would have to say the same thing about anyone who wanted to upgrade any position - QB, LB, S, RB, etc.

I'd like to see us draft a QB, and keep Gus. He's not terrible, and the new guy can learn the system until he's ready.

Well Gus has done just fine with about 5 other teams I guess and thats why there was such a bidding war for Gus in the offseason. If your comfortable with Gus I guess you should have been real comfortable with Sammy Morris as our starter. Why try to improve on a career backup lets just see if he gets better in his 13th year. I say don't try to upgrade secondary, we won nine games we are just fine. If you are willing to say dont try to upgrade QB then you are saying that Frerotte is better than most Qb's in the NFL or you just like mediocrity.

Sage's combined playing time does not equal to one game even when he started one game....

Well, I haven't seen Nublar's video's yet and I'm STILL comfortable going into this season with Gus at QB. Yes, he's not the most accurate passer & will occasionally piss us off with his overthrowing of TD's, but he did a MUCH MORE solid job than the likes of Fiedler, Feeley. Now with a season under his belt in this system & with these players, I expect an improved play from Frerrotte. However, I hope there's a young rookie draftee watching and learning as much as possible from the sideline!

Has a highlight film ever made anyone look bad? It's a HIGHLIGHT film bro. If someone wanted to spend the time and misery to put together a LOWLIGHT film you'd cringe at the idea of keeping Frerotte.

Frerotte is a serviceable QB at best. He definitely won't get any better. If we keep him as the starter I just hope he won't get worse.

Sage did have a lot to do with us winning a portion of those six games especially Buffalo. If Frerotte was in for the whole game we would have lost. It's an indisputable fact.

Was that a spelling error? If so, the football gods must have guided your fingers. I love it! Ferotten!
