Commentary: Coach Cam deserves credit for discipline

The Miami Dolphins hired Cam Cameron for four reasons.

The first three are score more points, score more points and score more points. The fourth is do everything else a head coach is supposed to do, including serve as director of an overgrown boys camp filled with campers who sometimes act like fools and get in trouble.

A coach doesn't have yell or bully players to be a disciplinarian. In fact, that kind of bullying can backfire: there was probably no more undisciplined team last season than the NY Giants under infamous bully -- er, I mean, coach -- Tom Coughlin.

By contrast, the Bills set a team record for the fewest penalties and were well up in the league standings in this category under quiet, never-flustered, even-keel Dick Jauron who never had a bad word to say about any of his players.
