Commentary: Thoughts on a Near-Perfect Sunday

No, I haven't, but good stuff as always, Phil...except for the bit about the infield...sooner or later I'm going to say something about that...

Thanks, though I did limit my anti-Marlins editorial to a single word. :)

Yeah, but I'm probably going to expand my pro-Marlins brainwashing to about a thousand as your punishment.

Well, now that Pennington AND Fiedler are done, it might not be that big a stretch.

Good work as usual. :)

As always, Phil, terrific work.

But...Jeff George?

I heard they were taking a long look at Jesse Palmer and Tim Couch. You can't tell me that Palmer or Couch, noodle arms both, are a better option than George given what the Jets want to do (stretch the field). Believe me, I'm no huge fan of George, either, but the guy's still got an arm, and that's apparently the prime requisite for their QB search right now.

All that said, I'd be a little surprised if Vincenzo Testaverde isn't starting for them in week 5. If nothing else, the trained chimps...er, Jets fans, love the guy.

Nice job Phil...

I think Heimerdinger, will have the same problem for a few years that Turner had with MIA a few years ago, that is to "tie down" his Offense due to his QB talents, or lack of. If this truely continues, the AFC East will still be a tight Division...

Actually, I think that Heimerdinger was the problem to begin with. Pennington was an excellent West Coast Offense QB, but Heimerdinger insisted on jamming a square peg into a round hole.

Of course, that's probably no longer relevant, since Pennington is done for the season, and probably for good as a NY Jet.

Well, they are. Sorry, but its true. Hey, I'm all for anyone competing with the Yankees.
They have actualy gained ground on the best record in baseball... they are tied for first in the East, they have the second best record in the AL.......they haven't hit the skids, the yankees have gotten hot....Sox are 6-4 in their last 10....yanks are 8-2....Sox have won 4 in a row.... can win 98 games if they win out. ......gotta love that the AL east is going to be decided in the last series of the season between the Sox and the wanks.....classic baseball....hit the skids??....i don't think so....maybe they tapped the brake but, they're back on the gas now.... :)
