Commentary: Three in a Row!

The wild card is out of reach by any reasonable stretch of the imagination at this point.

I think we have a better chance at the wildcard then the division.

Yeah so do I. The only team that worrys me is pittsburgh. I hope minny can beat them, pittsburgh opened as 3.5 point favorites though.

The reason we had December slides is because DW would refuse to make adjustments and would rely on his D to win games. We might not have all the weapons on O but we have coaches that gameplan and we are not so predictable. The December crap is over.

I would think the AFC East title would have a better chance than a wildcard. You've already got Jacksonville with 9-4 pretty much nabbing one berth and powerhouses like Pitts, SD, and KC vying for that last spot.

Check the top sticky.

Well, pretty much we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Both hard. But I still think the NE scenario is more possible because Pitts will probably not lose to Cleveland, Minnesota, and Detroit.

good article. I too will remember the finish to the Bills, Falcons and Patriots games. Unfourtunatly.

You know, even if the Dolphins do not make the playoffs this has still been one of the most enjoyable seasons I have ever watched. It was exciting through and through and just seeing the new blood was nice for a change.

That was a great read. Very nice Phil.

The only point of contention I have is strictly opinion related, I happen to think that there wasn't sufficient evidence to overturn the call on Ronnie's fumble. I know, that I see the ball moving before it hit the ground. What I can't tell, is if his hand is moving also. I can just see the tip of the ball and it is starting to twist when he still about 1' in the air, it's definately moving before he hits the ground. That, I think, was the key in that it made it seem plausible that the call on the field could be correct. Thus, not enough evidence to overturn.

yea how would we have a better chance at wildcard than division? We are talking about 3 teams all having to lose 3 in a row vs. 1 team losing 3 in a row... not to mention we'd have to win 3 in a row which isn't out of the question but we still got to play the Pats at Foxboro.

I wrote that Sunday night, and didn't start going through the playoff possibilities until yesterday. Unfortunately, I forgot to edit it. D'oh! But yes, it's clear that we have at least a shot at the wild card if enough things break right, beginning with the Chargers and Chiefs losing this weekend, both of which are likely.

That said, I believe our slim chances at winning the division are better than our slim chances of winning the wild card. Look at the sheer number of games that have to break Miami's way for a wild card. Then, look at the number of games that have to break Miami's way for a division title.

Thanks!

Fair enough. I'm a big advocate of refs enforcing the "not enough evidence to overturn" rule; I think too many refs say "it's more likely than not that this happened, so we'll overturn." But personally, it looked to me like his head hit before he lost control of the ball. No matter, it's a moot point now.
