First let me just say I love this site. I have been a diehard Dolphins fan for the past ten years, and believe me it hasn't been easy especially when you have to go to the most out of the way, smoke filled sports bars to find a place that is carrying the Dolphins game. Since I live in Dallas, the Dolphins are never on...anyway, ever since Zach Thomas started I have lived breathed Dolphins.

I want to make a few comments about Wes Welker that I've noticed many of you have seem to disregard his threat as a receiver. I've watched this kid for the past 6 years, and believe me...he will be the Dolphins star receiver. I can't tell you how many clutch catches he made in college, and last week was just a glimpse, and it was awesome. Every freaking time the dolphins needed a first down who was there right at the marker, yes Mr. Welker.

All of you who keep talking about how great Boston will be, well last week didn't show me anything. Besides I don't know what all this talk about Boston being the 3rd receiver, he's the 4th receiver he plays behind Chambers. Welker is so at home in the slot, that's where he does what he does IN THE SLOT!!! I can't wait for the Jets game, heck I can't wait for this season to unfold and watch Welker turn it on...I can't wait to see as many 83 jerseys in the stands as there are 99s and 54s.

Welker will be the darling of this team, just watch.

He will surprise a lot of people this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he catches for at least 400 yds. this season. That number would be higher except for the fact that we have Chambers, Booker, and Boston on our very talented receiving corps.
:welcome: :newbie:

He does seem an aweful lot like Wayne Chrebet (and I don't mean because they are both white). They are similar in size and speed, and both came very lowly regarded out of college. Chrebet has been a big time receiver for the Jets, especially on third down. As we saw last week, Welker seems to have that third-down ability as well.

So far, there's little not to like about Welker. I hope he lives up to your expectations. But I hate to acknowledge that this was a Wanny-Speilman acquisition

The only thing I don't like about him, is he seems to take big hits a lot. He needs to learn to get down, and don't worry about that extra yard (unless we need it on 3rd down).

I think Welker will be our Brandon Stokley. But I don't think he will ever be a no. 1 or 2. He will be exciting and add another element in the slot, where we haven't had a good player since maybe Nat Moore! Our offense has so many weapons and Welker will be one in the slot, but he will make even more happy on special teams!

What no love for OJ? When he started with the phins he was the definition of Mr. Clutch finding the soft spot in zones and moving the chains.

Welcome Techfin, and you seem to be right about Boston being the 4th receiver.

Being someone who also has watched Wes progress through college, I agree with everything you say. He has more potential than people realize. It will be exciting to becoming a major part of this offense. Miami is lucky to have him.

I think he will turn out to be an excellent 3rd down receiver. Sure love the way he returns kicks, nice to finally have someone back there who is capable.

Think he like Welker??

I agree Welker will be a good WR. he showed last game he has potential. Although, i think Boston will step up big come sunday. I see him being a productive #4 WR myself.

I have to admit, I think Welker is a great talent, has that big play ability....I just hold my breath on punt returns, fearing that fumble
