I am enjoying the last half of this season immensely. I am really optimistic about this team, since Saban righted the ship after the horrible Cleveland loss.

The glaring weaknesses on this team are run blocking, pass defending, and Quarterbacking. Yes, our receivers have dropped too many balls, but I can almost excuse them since guys like Chambers haven't been thrown to in 4 years (under the Wanny regime). That seems to be changing now.

Accepting this fact, I wanted to take a stab at a mock draft. I'm only interested in the first 4 rounds, because we lost a 5th (Wright) and 6th (Lemons).

Round 1 - Haloti Ngata, DT
Round 2 - Max Jean-Gilles, G/OT
Round 3 - Andrew Whitworth, T
Round 4 - Charlie Whitehurst, QB

I think we pick up defensive secondary, another receiver, and maybe outside linebacker through free agency.

wsorst mock ive seen. do you evne know where thoes players are expected to go at?

I really like Whitehurst...he would be a steal in the 4th. I think this defensive unit has a couple of young lineman ready to go (Wright, Vickerson, and Roth)... and Holiday is playing great. Let's extend his contract.

Now we need a playmaker at the safety position (an Ed Reed type). Getting a WR in the top 4 rounds should be considered.

Great mock.... unfotunately unless we lose out, at the current positions we wont be able to get any of those players in those rounds.

Ngata will be the 1st DT taken, Max should be a late 1st early 2nd round pick, Whitworth I dont think falls that much and Whitehurst is a 3rd round pick.

We are picking right around 15, so unless ALL of those players slip, we wont get any of them.

whitehurst is horrible. worst decisions and more ints then td prob since his childhood street ball
