So, the division is really a battle between New England and Miami. New England has won the most SB's, but Miami has won the division more times. Buffalo is pretty close in the race, except for SB wins. New York is in last place in almost every category, except for SB wins.

NOTE: Had it not been for Miami and Buffalo's decline in the 2000-2010 decade, Miami and Buffalo would own the AFC EAST in stats. Miami would have had dominating stats over the division.

NOTE: If not for 1961-1967, 1970-1997, 1999-2001, 2003-2008 we'd be dominating this division:D

How is the dolphins # of wins an NFL record since 1960?

I also want to point out that Miami's 400 wins comes in 43 years and the Jets, Bills and Patriots come in 49 years. Miami didn't start play until 1966, so it makes the record even more impressive.

Does anyone know what the Colt's record is for the time they were in the AFC East?

My goodness, imagine if Ralph allowed the Bills to move to the AFC North back when the NFL change the division around, I think the division would have been Miami, Indy, NE, and the Jets.

Miami and the Jets would be in a lot of trouble.

The Bills have only had one really good era of football and a few good years mixed in.

It seems weird, soden't it? Even though they were w/ us for so long it seems weird that the colts were ever in our division.

I think Miami would have actually been better off if the Bills had left the division instead of the Colts. We always played Indy tough even when they had good teams. Since 1984 (when they became the Indianapolis Colts) our record against the Colts is 25-14. That is a 64% winning percentage against the Colts.

Since 1984 our record against the Bills is 22-26. That is a 46% winning percentage against the Bills.

The Jets on the other hand, probably would have had more trouble if the Colts had stayed in the division. Since 1984 the Jets record against the Colts is 14-25. That is a 36% winning percentage against the Colts.

The Jets record against the Bills since 1984 is the same as Miami: 22-26 which is a 46% winning percentage against the Bills.

The Colts always gave us fits but to be fair most of the losing to Buffalo was from about '87-'97. Since that time we have fared well against going 13-9.

Actually the dolphins have 14 first place finishes when you include the strike shortened season in 1982 when the fish went 7-2 to win the division.

The Dolphins went to the super bowl that year and shutout that pansy team in my signature in the AFC Championship.

The jets have only 2 division titles since the 1970 NFL merger compared to the Dolphins 14.. One of their division titles was when Parcells was their coach leading them to their best record ever at 12-4. And the only other division title the Jets have had over the last 40 years was with Chad Pennington as their QB.
