How many picks are we due for if any for next yr? What 3? 4?

We've signed I think 5 and about 7 of our guys have signed elsewhere if not more 2 come. Neone know?

What's the most u can receive in 1 yr?

It is a very convuluted formula. But also is not just soley based of numbers gained and lost
but what did the gain and loss do for you

Say you lose 7 BU but in FA sign 3 starts that contribute greatly chances are no picks will be awarded

Noone but the NFL themself knows the exact formula for which compensatory picks are awarded. However, this is a very nice article

P.S. I never knew until I read this that Tom Brady was a compensatory pick for the Patriots. :mad:
 
depends on quality of picks signing porter might negate this, the pats and steelers always got extra picks because they did not sign big names but lost big names, but i do not no the formula, but will read on if someone has more insight, i beleive the eagles loaded up on comp picks too

No it won't. Porter was cut. It does not count for cut players.
 
once he's cut he becomes a free agent what are you talking about
 
Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose more unrestricted free agents than they sign (players who are cut do not factor into the equation). The highest selection a team can get as compensation is a pick at the end of the third round.

its for guys who we UFA that were lost....mcmike and welker dont count.....even kevin carter doenst count.....they cant be released by the team...anyone have the # of UFA we have lossed
 
ok sounds good to me so maybe we can get some of these picks some day
 
ya in that case doenst look like we'll get any BUT does it work UFA for UFA or UFA and whoever u pick up goes against us. meaning does our pick have to be a UFA to work against our favor? or as long as u pick up a player that counts already whether its UFA or via cut u picke dup ala JP.
