If Houston/Minnesota...whoever hires linehan.....do we get any compensation(draft picks?) since he is under contract???????
 
im pretty sure they have to compesate us. It woudl proably be like a 2nd or 3rd rounder though, not a first, because the cheifs have to give up a first for Herm
 
With this being a promotion, I didn't think they would have to give up anything. Only if he went to the other team for the same job.
 
I don't think there is any compensation involved if it isn't a lateral move. I'm not even certain there would be any compensation involved anyway. I thought there was a new rule where draft picks couldn't be used in compensation for coaches.
 
I agree, I think when you're talking about a promotion from OC to HC, there is no compensation involved.
 
The league has talked about banning the trade of draft picks for coaches after Gruden went to TB from Oak but nothing was ever finalized. Regardless I dont think we would receive any compensation if he signs with another team.

its okay for head coaches only.

if its a promotion then no picks can be involved for compensation.
 
I think that only works when you lose Good players to free agency. Not a coach who's moving up.
 
The only thing we would get is maybe someone who would run the ball when we are inside the 10 at the end of the game with time on the clock...
 
compensation picks can only be used for head coaches changing, not assistants. We will get nothing. End of story. Close thread. Nope! not carr... and zach will not play safety and brock berlin sucks...

We laugh about that now, but that cost us 2 games this year. Imagine being 11-5, winning our division and being in the playoffs. :fire:
