Competition committee discussing 43-yard extra point

They are slowly changing everything we know as football.

Might as well turn it into Rugby kicks.

Parallel from location of score.

If you run the ball in for a TD from the sideline. Kicker must kick extra point from the side line as far back as he wants.

Makes angles and distance into account.

Placing the ball at the 25 would make it a 42 yard FG. I keep seeing analysts and hearing radio guys say it'd be a 43 yd FG.

**** NO!

Why the hell would we make Kickers more important? Seriously.

If it aint broke, why fix it. Silly if you ask me.

we should eliminate kicking from football:

7 points for a TD

3 points if you reach the 20 yard line

teams start at the 25 instead of having kickoffs

The purists won't like this idea but:

Have a target for a player to throw it to for one or they can try to get it in the endzone for 2. I say "a player" instead of the starting QB because it should be a rule that the QB can't go for the extra point to cut down on starting QBs getting injured. If you want to use your starting QB to attempt the extra point you can but he will be relegated to that role for the remainder of the game, this could bring in some added end of game strategy.

would probably reduce the amount of players on a team as well, since you're getting rid of special teams...except for punts.

There must be some damn good weed up in Canada, eh?

I can't say I'm surprised by this. With all the rule changes they have made to the special teams from making the long snapper a protected player to the prevention of the overload formation have made it more difficult to get an effective push up the middle to either block or disrupt the execution of the kick.
