NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2006 – The 2005 Slam Dunk champion, Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks, will return to defend his crown in the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk competition to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by AOL, Feb. 18 at the Toyota Center in Houston. In addition to the reigning champion, the 21st Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk competition will feature Andre Iguodala of the Philadelphia 76ers, and rookies Nate Robinson of the New York Knicks and Hakim Warrick of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Some company needs to sponsor the whole thing to the tune of 1 million to the winner. That will bring the big dogs back to the table and we can see some real dunks.

Itd be AWESOME to see Kobe Vs. Lebron Vs. Vince Carter

Lets go Nate. Show off that 48" vertical. the Knicks have to win SOMETHING this year.

He's got to be the sentimental favorite to win because of his height. Just like Steve Francis & Spud Webb.

From what i've seen from the college outlook the most athletic player in last years draft was hakim warrick, the guy could make any dunk...he'll do the same at the dunk contest

LeBron needs to go. So does Kobe. I like the one million dollar idea to get the big guys to show up.

There's a reason why there's a dunk contest in NBA LIVE. Besides it's good to see who else can dunk.

You are kidding right? NBA Live is not the same as watching the pros. Youre Telling me youd rather see the 4 that are participating this year over the 3 I mentioned? :rolleyes2

No love for Josh Smith.. The kid is pretty big and can jump out of the gym. With another year of conditioning and practice, I am pretty sure he will be ready to defend his title.
