I've seen A LOT of really stupid posts in my years on this board, but the ones complaining about Dan Henning's play calling this year has to top the list! This is the most creative offense I've ever seen in Miami. Dan has used every weapon at his disposal successfully! Please do yourselves a favor and shush.

I do think he's maximizing the talent we have. We as a team are definately overacheiving.

We don't have the explosive, home-run hitting receivers yet to be as aggressive as Henning or the fans, for that matter, might want. So given what we DO have (a top 10 passing offense), I believe Henning is doing a very good job of managing our offense to this point. While he hasn't been great, I do believe if we can get an explosive, solid number 1 receiver next season, Henning will open up the offense that much more.

You've also gotta give Henning credit for utilitzing the running game given the fact we have two big time rushers in the backfield. He's done a great job of splitting Ronnie and Ricky's carries as to not tire either one out down the stretch. As a result, we're 13th in the league as far as rushing yards and tied for 3rd in rushing TDs.

Not only that, but Henning did a great job of catching teams off gaurd with the wildcat offense! Without it, I don't think we'd be over .500 as of now. Now that teams are adjusting to it, he's also adjusting his play calling and still giving us a good chance to compete and win every week.

The Dolphin's offense is fun to watch again. Reminds me of Forrest Gump's "box of chocolates" line. Sure there is much room for improvement and I believe that will come as the personnel gets better. What I really like is knowing that 10 play, 80 yard drives are very much a reality.

Look ya'll. We have Ronnie and Ricky and now two FB's who have added to the mix to go with Cobbs.

This is now December. YOu beat up beat up teams by running down the gullet. That is BP ball. I love what Henning has done and I hope he stays for a couple more years, but get a clue, this team would have been much better off if it had fed Ronnie when he was hot and get Cobbs in the mix. Our best guys need to be fed. Thats all. I have one complaint and it is this one, because I care about my team and I want to see it achieve its greatest success possible.

That to me spells run the damn ball and stop fartin around. The passing game is aces with what we have, but we need to control the ball for longer periods.

My only issue is when he gets too conservative at times. Other than that I've really enjoyed the diversity in the formations that we've used.

I agree. I was at the game and it wasn't fun to watch sunday. How about a screen or something to make better use of our backs. It seemed that every other play ronnie and ricky were on and off the field trading time. No chance to get it going with consecutive playing time. I think he has done a great job but there is still room for improvement. I don't think we are playing down to teams, our game plan is. Put the ball down the field and run it up on someone.

Do you realize how hurt our interior O-Line is? We have both our starting guards out for the season. Unless our backs learn how to fly they are not going to be able to punch it up the middle.

He's done a good job designing an offense, but I do have a problem with the team letting up on the gas so much after we get a lead. We've let a lot of bad teams stay in games they had no business being in and we've been lucky it hasn't bit us more often. At some point, we need to give the offense a chance to run all out against some of these weaker opponents so we don't fall apart when we get involved in a shootout like last week at New England.

There is no doubt that Henning has been doing a very good job though. He has brought more imagination to this offense that I have seen in a long time, and I say that without meaning the wildcat. But he isn't perfect and at times our conservative playcalling deserves some criticism.

Anyone of you who dosen't like the playcalling should give the dolphins and mr. Tuna a telephone call and let him know you can do it better, see what he says.

I would agree Henning has done a superior job as OC this year given the overall talent level of the Dolphins offensive unit.

My MAIN complaint, however, is the exact thing that has been his biggest plus this year - the Wildcat. My beef is repeatedly on drives that have already produced 2 or three first downs, and have gotten the Fins out of a hole to reach midfield, he pulls out the Wildcat when the drive was already working with standard run/pass formations. This has halted many drives this year. I don't like his penchant to get cute and revert to the Wildcat which sometimes has caused a regression in Fins drives.

I have been screaming for him to not use it for a game or two and let teams think we are done with it. We cannot rely so heavily on it, and it should not interrupt drives when the standard O has been churning out first downs ON THAT DRIVE. Stick with the offense that is working!

This is a fairly minor complaint, however, and I will be the first one to say props to Henning this year.

I can't complain about Henning. Imagine what he will do next year. Pennington can have another year with the receivers, the line will have gelled more, and Parcells will get us a few more playmakers.
