Complete Rebuild Is Needed

Dolphins are a very very bad team from top to bottom they have a couple guys to build on but the future does not look great. Besides the typical Kiko not being able to pass defend and he had a wide-open shot at the quarterback on the blitz and literally ran the wrong way. We need defensive line, linebackers corners, new offense of line, stud wide receiver and most of all a front office that can pick those players and coaches who can coach those players. As bad as Gase is and I think he is absolutely horrific and should not be in the NFL Burke should not be coaching flag football team and the fact that he’s had the 30th, 31st and 32nd defense in the last three years is a freaking joke and the fact that he has not been fired is a bigger joke. Everyone forgets two years ago when they won nine straight and the statistical chance of them winning all those games was under 1% because of all the luck they had.
This is a rebuild on a monumental scale.

Sorry. I get the vent. All of us are frustrated. But Ross, Baum, Grier, and likely Gase are going nowhere.

Sorry. I get the vent. All of us are frustrated. But Ross, Baum, Grier, and likely Gase are going nowhere. There will be no rebuild.

No....don’t agree. Definitely need to replace some of the coaches and players.....but we also have some keepers.
 
Some really inspired coaching and utilization of personnel would go a long way...
 
Defensive line is awful, needs a major infusion of young talent and depth
Interior offensive line is terrible, needs a total rebuild
Linebackers: Baker is coming along, McMillan needs another year, Kiko is a tackling machine but is a liability in coverage. This unit needs quality depth
Secondary needs another CB opposite X man
Quarterback needs to be upgraded, if there is no one in the draft that is appealing you have to bring in a veteran like Bridgewater or RG3 to compete with Tannehill
Defensive coordinator must go
Need an offensive coordinator to call plays
Need a physical wide receiver that can make one on one plays
Hate getting whooped physically late in the year when you are fighting for your playoff lives, it's a real bad look for this organization!
Would that be a total rebuild?

I mean...this is exactly it. My only comment about the D line is that Godchaux, Taylor, and Spence are a solid rotation but we do need a dominant DT in that rotation. The DE situation is not good. I feel like Quinn needs to be back to at least use him as a stop gap while trying to acquire more DEs but definitely need to draft at least one. Maybe if Branch takes less money bring him back as a bottom rotation guy and keep Harris at the bottom and hope he develops even just a little bit. Wake will have a decision to make on going to another team, coming back with less money as a situational guy, or retiring. The DE situation is really depressing...

So I really don't think this is the answer. The team has holes, deficiencies, and areas to improve but what NFL team doesn't?

We lost a lot of key players to injuries this year and that has certainly had an impact. The fact that the team is still in the playoff hunt is pretty remarkable.

I get today's loss is frustrating but overall this team has some good building blocks on both sides of the football. You want to point a finger at Kiko but fact is he's probably in the Pro Bowl and maybe All-Pro this season. He's not great in coverage but very few linebackers are. He still has forced a half a dozen turnovers this year (INT/FF).

We need to get better on the line on both sides of the football and get another capable boundary CB and this team is pretty damn good if healthy going into next year.
 
It is going to take at least 2 drafts before the fins are above mediorce. A draft to fix the offense ( QB, O-line) and at least a draft to fix the defense (DE, CB, linebacker). It will also take changes to the coaching staff at very least a new defensive coordinator.
 
I think a total rebuild is a little off. I think we can win with our FO, they get a bad rap but honestly it's not all bad. I think we can win with Gase but he needs to change, starting with his play calling, trust in certain players and selections for DC and OC. I don't think we can ever be anything other than at .500 team or thereabouts with Ryan Tannehill. I think we need to keep young talents like Wilson, Tunsil, X, Drake, Fitz, Ballage (if today wasn't a one off) and Stills. I think we need to be bold and trade our tradeable older talent like Kiko, Tannehill and Jones. We need to get ourselves a franchise quarterback, clear the cap space and make some moves in FA for young talent. We need to inject some excitement into this team through more adventerous play calling and for once winning the time of possession in games.

We can "win" with Gase if he essentially becomes a different person?

Seriously. He's been in CHARGE of everything you're addressing for like 3 years but

he's still the "answer?"
