Well with this Charlie Anderson signing its apparent that basically the entire front 7 of our defense is being scrapped for guys who at least have the experience of playing in a 3-4.

Once Pace signs its hard to believe that JT isnt the odd man out here on the outside. For one thing we can probably get some value in return for him, and Porter is a guy who has done well in a 3-4 before.

Basically if we can get something for JT and hopefully unload Crowder on someone, the only player who it seems will stick around is Holliday who can play DE in this system.

Initially while watching all of these signings I was thinking the draft wouldnt be so heavy defensively for us, but now that I think about it, alot of these guys are plug ins who can run the system for now while we find the right guys in the draft to take over. Im sure Bill will load up on front 7 and OLinemen(later rounds). Look for one or two of these guys to be impact and be able to start right away(Goff kid from Vandy maybe?).

In the meantime he is signing up every player he knows can play the 3-4 system to try and make us competative until he is able to have enough drafts to hand pick the players he wants on his front 7. Maybe Chris Long is the pick after all, even though as I said earlier, I thought all these signings made it seem hard to think he would go that direction.

Personally I still think franchise QB must be addressed NOW, and with Anderson out of the mix(at least agreed to a deal with Cleveland), Ryan is the only option to fix that problem this season. We can still load up on D and OL with the rest of our picks. Plus we can get more picks if we are able to trade Taylor.

You don't need a franchise QB to win Super Bowls...

But, it certainly enhances your chances. Wouldnt you agree? Most Super Bowls are won by teams with really good if not HOF caliber QBs.....right? For every SB won by a QB like Dilfer there are 5 won by guys like Brady, Aikman, Elway, Montana etc etc....

Agreed , just ask the Ravens....

Parcells & Co. are going to create a monster out of this defense. Nothing but big fast LB's. If Parcells couldn;t get his franchise QB, then he's going to win games the other way....or should I say, defensively.

Very true (i.e. 2000 Baltimore Ravens) but you do need a quarterback that won't turn the ball over in key situations and make dumb mistakes like we have had in the past. Need a solid veteran that knows what he is capable of and knows his limits.

crowder can play 3-4 MLB so i dont know why you wana unload him he is actually perfect for it

Maybe so. Has he ever played in a 3-4? What did they run at UF?

Personally I just dont care for Crowder. I dont think he is a very good player and IMHO he is a complete moron. Not that he is the only guy in the league who has ever crashed a car (allegedly drunk, he did flee the scene for some reason) with an unregistered weapon in it. Im sure there are other morons on our own team. But, I just dont care for him. Not to mention those comments on London.

and that thought process is exactly why we are in the situation we currently are in with our QB's......you can count on one hand how many teams have won w/o an elite QB

Also I think we are better off in the secondary than most make us out to be. First of all Will Allen IMHO is a top 15 corner. He was arguably our best defensive player last season(Taylor, Porter). Goodman(is he still with us) is decent and Lehan is not too horrible. I wouldnt mind a draftee to come in and get some time(and definately take Daniels out of the mix).

I do feel we need another good safety as well. Maybe spend a couple of picks in the draft for a SS and a corner. Or perhaps throw some FA money out there to fill one of these spots.

My sentiments exactly. :goodpost:

we need a QB, hopefully beck is it, if the light goes on with beck this year, the sky is the limit

And if the light dosent go on and he isnt the QB we need....then what is your plan?????

Sign another bum next season like we have been doing for about 10 years now? Another reject washed up QB from another team? Trade valuable picks for a proven guy that isnt old? If thats even possible. Seriously, good luck getting a solid young QB that another team has rights to.

As far as the draft goes next season, we probably wont be in position to take the best QB available. On top of that they were talking about how next years crop of QBs is even more thin than this seasons. Schefter said it looks like Matthew Stafford from UGA is probably staying for his senior year and so is Tebow(who I dont even think will be a good NFL QB) will too. So then what?

Strike now while we have the rare opportunity to take the best(and only solid NFL ready QB IMHO) available in the draft. TAKE RYAN!

Matt Ryan and his 19 interceptions this year in a pretty weak ACC?

no thanks, I'll let someone else put 30 Mil. guaranteed into him.
