Its been stated before, but watching the Game of the Week on NFL Network, it pisses me off more.. The first 2 plays on the last goaline series where Linehan called a play to the only corner of the endzone with the sun blinding the receivers... Linehan called twice, and Gus threw it twice... wasting TWO downs..

What dopes.. :shakeno:

What Else in New

Just bad awareness and recognition by both Gus and Scott on those 2 plays. We already threw one to Chambers on the right side why not go back to there?
I mean he can jump out of his skin and the Pats DB's are about the same height and do not have his leap why not just set it up on the right side.

Going into the sun was just lapses of concentration that can't happen in the Pros. Gus should have known better and switched the play to the right.
(I think we should of given Ronnie a chance but maybe Saban relayed it up to Scott or he decided not to go to Ronnie because of the Bills game and Ricky was just not on, on Sunday).

Big mistake throwing into the sun. If you are going to call that play it has to be to the other side.

One time, I can live with.. A brainfart.. But twice consecutively??? It is simply inexcusable...

Hobbs interfered on the first one. If Daniels's play was pass interference, then Hobbs's DEFINITELY was. He basically held Booker down from being able to jump for the ball. You put us first and goal on the 1-inch line and the game turns out differently. It was actually a good play call if you think of it that way -- we picked on the rookie corner and got him to interfere. The refs just didn't call it. Maybe they were the ones looking into the sun....

I agree and I only saw it on tv but it looked blinding. The anouncers even commented on it. So they throw the same thing agian? That is like positioning the ball for a field goal on the dirt baseball strip.

The only way I would endorse the last two plays in the sun was IF Booker was the receiver and they lined up a different defender..

The first play looked like the sun caught Booker by surprise, now if he went back into the huddle saying "throw it to me again, I'll catch it" then I would agree to the play calling..

you never know. the D is expecting run. the fins may have wanted to telegraph their plays and throw incompletions :fire:

really it was three wasted plays, because the toss to ronnie 3 yards from scrimmage when you need almost 10 is just ******ed....maybe it was a check off dump, but gus hasn't really shown a whole lot of ability to check off, his staring down isn't as bad as Feeley's was, but it's still pretty much there. Which leads me to believe another possible bad call....

wonder who else out there would make a good OC, cause i have not been impressed from day one....the denver game...sure...but other than that, the playcalling and the inability to get it in his QB's head that when you're down by more than a touchdown with only 8 minutes to go....you need to not waste so much time

I would not be at all suprised if they did that on purpose so to blind the defender. If I was calling the plays, I would have ran on second and possibly third down, however; I have no idea; did we have timeouts left? If we were playing in New England and those two passes were thrown into the sun, there would be no doubt in my mind that the plays were simply a bad read by Gus; but the game was in Miami, they know every nook and crannie, every shadow on that field, they knew they were throwing into the sun, and most probably that it would give them the advantage. Both Booker and Chambers can get up there and fight for that ball, giving them a clear advantage. I do agree with a previous poster that there was interferance on Booker that was not called. Chambers just didnt make the catch, no two ways about it; I did not watch the replay closely enough to see if it was a defender, an overthrow by Gus or simply another missed oportunity by Chambers, but I cannot question the playcall

yeah... the swing pass to brown on third down was also inexcusable.... he catches it at the 9 and we expect him to make it to the endzone with half the patriot defense having plenty of time to come up and stop him? genius...

What really threw me is that we didnt attempt to waste the clock on our drive. By throwing for a TD we would have ensured Brady more than enough time to once again go down field in a flash for a easy FG for the win. Did this even cross Linehans mind?

EXactly. Once I am ok with. Maybe take a shot even with the sun hoping that your WR will be able to pick up the ball better then the DB.

But not twice.

Have we even caught a fade pass in the endzone since OG left?
