The defense is still going to be a work in progress as Saban implements his new complex defensive schemes.

"Nick Saban wants his defense to attack, to carry the fight to opponents by being unpredictable and make them so vulnerable that they feel like prey during a hunt. But during this preseason, and perhaps for a while during the regular season, the hunter might feel like the hunted."...

This quote was taken out of today's Miami Herald in the article titled, Expect the unexpected from defense.

Since this is my first post, I cannot list the url.

Despite the fact that it was written by the infamous Dolphin hater, it could well be true.

Armando has become a joke of a journalist when covering the Dolphins. When he's on the radio talking about the Phins, nothing he says can be taken seriously.

Dont expect to see the "real" defense till the season begins. Saban has stated that he wants to not show anything in the preseason.

I think the trouble is for now is being in position, showing athletic ability, and showing some awareness.
Lets see how thing go tonight.

The article makes complete understanding of what we face. We are going to have a new defense on the field this year. The "d" needs to become use to this then all hell will break lose.

When this defense gets it together, the NFL better watch out. This is going to be one nast "D"

That was a good article. We need to get Miami back to the position where teams feared playing us. Saban is the guy to do it...

Yes. The predictable defense was ok when Jimmy introduced the new speed guys. It was certainly better than Olividatti's defense. But teams just know exactly what we do now so Saban's new philosophy will take time, but will be worth it. Especially once the team gets to the point where it all becomes second nature to them.]

BTW, welcome Clean.

We need to be patient with the defense. It may take several regular season games until the defense understands the complex schemes that Saban is implementing. The team may be actually better the second half of the season vs. the 1st half.

i'd be ok with that since historically we are better in the first part of the season. much more important to have a strong finish.;)
