I like him a lot as a QB prospect and there's no doubt that he has the stongest arm in the draft. The fact that he's 6'6 230 certainly helps, but what good is being 6'6 when you release the ball at shoulder or ear height. Parcells and Co. have stressed to Beck about raising his throwing height, which makes sense given he's about 6'2, but wouldn't their throwing heights be similar

I would think that if it were to be an issue
that teams would teach him proper form like we are doing with Beck only difference is Becks AGE

biggest concern: For a guy so big, and playing in a somewhat spread offense, he was never overly productive.

Flacco throws over the top...if you watch those video's...and if you watched him play at all...you would know he throws high...especially when he is still not warmed up.

IMO, Flaco is a project. I wouldn't pick him up till 4th or later.

He is big and has a big arm. Don't know all the reasons but he couldn't dislodge Palko at Pitt and I was never that impressed with Plako.

I may turn into a good QB but I wouldn't spend a high pick on him.

I disagree, I think Flacco is a good prospect warrant of a mid-late 2nd round choice, but we might have to pick him at #32 if we really want him. But him sometimes throwing the ball at ear height is one of the few negatives I see with Flacco.

I don't understand the ceremony about this kid. In brief looks I didn't see anything startling, and you've gotta put red flags all over his collegiate background. Give me a long term guy from a big program and more often than not that resume trumps a cutesy bailer, someone who abandoned his initial collegiate choice to drop to a lower program. Buffalo never placed enough emphasis on that with Losman, initially at UCLA.

Admittedly I only saw him once, but Josh Johnson looked considerably more intriguing than Flacco.

Unless a quality QB really takes a big drop, I would not pick any QB's before the 4th round. Let McKown and Beck battle it out and if we need a 3rd QB take a Josh Johnson or Dixon in the 4th or even 6th round.

I may be alone, but I'm a bit concerned that at John Becks age, that he is having to change his throwing motion.

Clearly his release was to low causing many knockdowns.

So, I hope they are targeting Flacco.

That's because he was not given a chance to compete. Palko was highly recruited out of high school, and Wanny didn't open up the position for competition. As soon as Flacco was told that he wasn't going to get a chance to compete, he asked for a transfer.

Beck's our QB...I think Flacco has potential but if we're gonna take a QB then I'd think the FO would be taking Ryan and they're not....I think they wanna go with Beck....they might take a QB on day 2 but not at 32.

Ozzy rules!!
