Looks like a good guy. He understands Beck's there (I think Becks in his head already, by his statements), and that he'll get to compete. Funny that he overlooks McCown.

Judging by the transcript, I'm not sure he really expected to be in Miami.

I'm sure he and Beck will be good compatriots, however. May the best man win.

I do no think that Beck is in his head. I think he was being respectful and saying that Beck is already there and seems to be the guy right now. It would be better to sit Henne and let him hold the clipboard to learn anyway.

"(on if the heat and humidity will be a challenge for him) No, I don’t think so. I’ve been out here training in California and I’m kind of used to the weather. But playing wise, it doesn’t really get too cold playing in Michigan, except for maybe November, but it’s pretty hot during September and October."

Lol, boy is he nieve. He's gunna have another thing coming during training camp out there. "its pretty hot during september and october in michigan" :sidelol:

I totally agree with that. Henne has NO IDEA what heat and humidity really is. He's going to be blindsided in camp with that heat.

The best thing I ever did was move out of south florida (and out of florida altogether). That heat is no way to live. It saps all the energy out of ya.

Henne is really underestimating how hot in can get in South Florida during the summer months. Chad, you're in for a rude awakening!

I thought he showed class when they were cutting away from him on ESPN after talking about going to Miami, and he said to wish Brian congratulations (on just being drafted as well.)

South Florida heat? Please did Marino worry about the heat when he got here. Face it Beck is Toast. The big tuna drafted Chad to be the Dolphins starting QB and he signed Josh (I love the 80's) Mcown to back him up. Between those 2 Lil John is going to holding that clipboard, I just hope he does not drop it to often.

I really like Henne. I think McCown and Beck are ok, but I see Henne being our starter within a year.

I believe Henne is the reason we didn't draft Matt Ryan.

I'm assuming he misspoke about the months. I have lived in both the midwest and Florida. Yes the heat and humidity is insane down south, but the midwest can be equally as unbearable. The main difference is the amount of continuous days each area experiences.

Anyone remember Cory Stringer?

I like what they said during the draft: The fact that we didn't take Henne with our 1st #2 pick shows that our front office is still undecided about Beck. We didnt panic and reach for a QB and Henne fell in our lap with the 2nd #2 pick. A great value pick. Now we have 2 unproven talents at QB. I'm rooting for Beck, but I hope, no matter who it is, the best QB starts. I hope they both turn out to be great.

yeah, he doesn't know what he's got in store for him... offseason camps in the rainy season of May and June, then killer heat in July and August... and September, October, November, December...

I don't think the Henne pick says the FO doesn't like Beck. Kiper said over and over if they picked Henne at #32 that would say Beck is done. Well we didn't and sat back in the late 2nd. That tells me they were ok with QB. Now because Henne falls that low he is great value and means they have a safety net now at QB. Worst case one steps up and takes the job and the other is either a solid backup or great trade material in the future.

I dont see any rookie QB this year starting outside of Ryan and even he is a long shot. It's a tough transition. Henne is in a great position where he can sit for awhile and learn. I think this gives the team a year to work with Beck and see what he has and if he doesn't step up then it's Henne's shot next year.
