The league can not comment further on the incident? They let this crap out so ESPN can have a field day and then cannot comment any further because of the league policy? Is it just me or do people not see the breach here? Now its a substance other than Marijuana, so what could it be? Ummm, Heroin? PCP? yeah ummmmmm cocaine? You all really think Ricky is doing cocaine after all this? The world is a terrible place if **** like this is happening in the NFL. YOu expect this crap in politics, not the NFL. This league not only has an officiating problem and a CBA problem, but a substance policy problem.

The league didn't spill the beans. Denver's front office did. And they need to be held accountable. The league office is rightfully obeying the rules.

Talk about the league getting tough...this is where they need to get tough and fire some idiot that let the info out in the first place....My GUESS is that it came from the Broncos organization....if in fact we were negotiating with them about a trade for RW, they have the right, by league rules, to have access to Ricky's current situation. That is fine, but obviously someone in the league or someone in the Bronco's organization leaked the info the local press and bingo...mass hysteria here in Fin Land...

IMO, a couple of folks need to be fired for this indiscretion...I could even see the Fins and Ricky suing the league for letting it out, especially if it turns out that he is exonerated...this is total crap by the league and irresponsible jounalism by the Denver TV station that let it out...

Is it just me, or has the NFL lost substantial amounts of credibility this year, in every regard possible!

I think the threat of a lawsuit will wind up helping Ricky. For example there could be a scenario something like this while in the appeals process.

Steinberg: You know someone in the league disclosed information about my client pre-maturely that prevents him from getting a market rate contract.

Tagliabue:

Steinberg: Well I'd say Ricky is a franchise back in the prime of his career.

Tagliabue: :(

Steinberg: He's healthy and has a new love for football. I'd say he can play another 5 years. I'd say the league by their indiscretion cost my client about 15 million dollars.

Tagliabue: :fire:

Steinberg: My client's completely reformed and doesn't use marijuana any more. He's indicated to me that he'd be willing to do "anti drug" public service announcements for the NFL.

Tagliabue: :). Tell me more.

Steinberg: So let's talk about this suspension!

Tagliabue: What suspension:D

On Cold Pizza yesterday I swear the reporter said her source was a high NFL official, she didn't say Denver official. Am I correct or did I hear wrong?

As I understand it, all drug testing is confidential. However, any team pursuing a trade, ie Denver, can request and receive , from the NFL, tesing info about a player they are pursuing. This info, once received, is still confidential and to be used only for evaluating purposes only for that team only. Apparently, no one else would be privy to this info, the media, fans, other teams, no one until the appellate process is complete in another month or so. The NFL should investigate and finf out who leaked this and take appropriate action.

This does leave me wondering if Karl Rove had anything to do with this !!! :D :D :D :D

They were on the edge of their freakin seats waiting for Ricky to make one wrong move, they always will be.I hope his trade value bottoms out and he play for us and he runs the ball straight up their arses! :)

I just hope Ricky makes it out of this. If not, then it's safe to say we wont have to ever mention his name again

Positive drug tests in the NFL almost always get leaked by a source other than the NFL. This happens all the time!

If you're going to throw a fit this time, I assume you were outraged about all the times it happened in the past, to players from other teams.

No according to the Denver reporter on Cold Pizza-her source was a highly ranked NFL official. The NFL is at fault here and heads should roll.

No it wasn't. Did you watch the interview? I have it on Tivo. She specifically said a member of the Broncos organization gave her the info.

But don't let the facts get in the way of making excuses.
