Bills | Team acquires 2006 fifth-round pick for Moulds
Tue, 4 Apr 2006 23:11:20 -0700

Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans traded a fifth-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for WR Eric Moulds.

Highway robbery seems to be the theme this year in the NFL. First the Dolphins get a HUGE steal by getting Culpepper for just a 2nd round pick, and now the Texans ripoff the Bills. Next I will see Payton Manning traded for a 3rd round pick.

We can give our 3rd for Manning and have him and Daunte compete for the spot

Moulds is worth more than a 5th

:sidelol: a 5th? good steal by the texans imo

Yeah, and the Eagles got nothing for Owens.

Its hard to trade a guy when everyone one knows he will be released and when it turned out only the Texans were very interested.

Dallas got nothing for Keyshawn.

Naw really? The Eagles got nothing for him, they had to release him. Meshawn Johnson also didnt get the Cowboys any picks in return.

No but had Keyshawn stayed with Dallas they wouldnt have gotten TO

So in a way Dallas did get something for releasing Keyshawn

Actually the Texans got robbed. Buffalo would've have cut him anyway. Houston could've had him for nothing.

Why would the Bills have cut him anyways? Last I heard the Bills have plenty of cap space, and they really haven't spent it much in free agency. All the Bills have signed in free agency is like one or two starters and the rest are camp fodder scrubs.

The Bills would not have cut Moulds.

Yes, they would have. He was making like $8 million a year, and his agent and personal manager both said that he would never come back to Buffalo if they wanted to cut his pay, which they did. He would have definitely been cut.

Didn't Javon Walker say last year he would never return to Green Bay(he is saying it again this offseason)? Didn't Donovin Darius say last year he didn't want to return to Jacksonville? Last time I checked they are both with the teams they refused to return to.

The Bills would have figured a way to keep Moulds if they couldn't trade him. It isn't like the Bills are close to the cap. Heck, they spent a great deal of time before the trade trying to restructure his deal. The Bills wanted him, and if they couldn't trade him I highly doubt that they would let a guy they really wanted on their team go for nothing.

Nope if you read the exact quote I replied to...You stated dallas got nothing for Meshawn and I said they got T.O. who is a much better receiver so they didn't lose anything but gained in the process.

It would be like you releasing Moulds and signing a better receiver.

I don't think it was robbery considering he was on his way out the door and even if he wasn't going to leave the writing was on the wall was the Bills didn't want him!

Fair trade!
