That wasn't all Pennington talked about when camp opened. He repeated what he said about arm strength during May's organized team activities (OTAs), saying he had worked to add more torque in his motion in order to increase the velocity on his passes. Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery said he noticed a difference.

"I definitely noticed it from the first time we got back in the offseason program," Cotchery said after catching a 27-yard touchdown pass from Pennington in Saturday's Green and White practice. "Just throwing, just warming up, I felt a different zip on it."

The guy would be a great addition to the Fins, especially when compared to the QBs aka turnover machines from years past...He's the most accurate QB in NFL history, smart, great leader, rarely turns the ball over (thats a big one), oh and he hates the Jets (gotta love that one)...Bring him in! Remember in years past, "Deep down the side line, Pennington to Coles!"...Now imagine Pennington to Ginn

The more and more I read about Pennington coming to the Dolphins the more I am liking the idea. IMHO it's a win-win situation for both the Fins and Pennington.

It is easy to be the most accurate passer in nfl history when you only throw the ball 5-10 yards at a time.

Hmm... his arm is improving so they released him. Somebody is hiding something.

I'm no fan of the pasta-of-the-day, but would say it sure isn't easy in the NFL to approach a positive milestone, let alone set one. He definitely deserves accolades for being the best dinker and dunker in the history of the game, especially with a studly Curtis Martin surely consolidating the coverage closer to the box. Gotta give credit where credit's due. I will add that in auditing several of the Jests forums, while there's definitely respect for Penne, you can read more into thejubilant comments within the pro-Favre threads almost uniformly expressing that a weight's finally been lifted off the offense's shoulders now having more options down the field.

After all their spending this offseason, they couldnt afford his salary plus Favre's 12 million dollar salary.

You're say that as if u havent been watching our team's abysmal QBs throw errant INTs all day long, not to mention throw dink and dunks all day long... Ill take 5-10 yards at a time, plus smash mouth RnR express anyday...Coles averaged about 12 YAC as Pennington's go-to-guy... I'll take that

They wouldn't even needed Favre if Pennington has a refound strong arm. Why would anyone look to replace an intelligent ,accurate passer, with a strong arm plus he is younger than Farve?

Media market, fan pressure and the money they have spent to win now by adding pace, faneca and the likes. Now you get a HOF QB, wich is a mistake, and wallah we have a super bowl contender, NOT!!!

Well, they released him because they just traded for a GREAT quarterback who is a big upgrade. If the Jets were a perenial playoff team coming into the season...they are now a serious threat to go deep in the playoffs with the addition of Favre.

I hate Favre...but Pennington is not even in the same league as him. Anyone who thinks that is sadly mistaken. With that said, I would consider bringing pennington in IF the dolphins feel he is an upgrade over McCown and he is best suited for "teaching" Beck and or Henne. If he's not an upgrade and doesn't offer the teaching ability...next.

Yep, now that Chad could bea dolphin his arm strength is better and he'll be great:lol:

The facts are Chad is a dman good QB when healthy, unfortunately he cannot stay healthy. His lack of arm strength is overblown, he gets the job done when he is healthy.

Don't gloat. I bet you LOVED Brian Cox when he became a Jet.

I asbolutely loved bryan Cox when he was a Jet but I never said he couldn't play. I didn't like him on the dolphins(he's the type of player you hate when he's against you but love when he's on your team) but I respected him as a good player. You guys have bashed Chad for years even though he's been a good player and has owned you guys.

exactly. yeah, fans always look for a reason to kill a division opponent, but we always knew what he was capable of because he always killed us.
