Great win against the Bears this weekend Fins. I arrived early at the game on Sunday and decided to watch the entire game at the stadium. Safe to say I was cheering my guts out for you guys. For some unknown reason, I have always hated the Bears (really weird).
Also, I've said this a million times - Rex Grossman does not impress me at all. I don't think he has that "it" factor when you're down by a TD that he'll have the capability to bring a team back. I just don't think he is that. Regardless, respect is given - he has played well.
What's upsetting at times is the Chargers could be 8-0 along with the Colts if only our kicker could have made the kick against Baltimore and against the Chiefs.
What I've noticed on your board is really weird. I can't actually believe people are calling out Ronnie Brown. This kid is the real deal and will only get better - anyone that claims he's a bust does not realize what this kid will offer once a passing game is established. Let's face the facts here, defense priority is stop the RUN and force Joey to beat you through the air.
Anyways, just wanted to give you guys a shout out and congrats on the win!

Secondly: Re: Toniu Fonoti
Talented - NO DOUBT. Motivated- not at all. That was his biggest downfall, he just does not care and does not want to improve. He's satisfied with being a mediocre player rather than playing and committing himself 100% and become an amazing guard.
He reported late for camp TWICE, attended fat camp twice, and consistenly uses his "ethnicity" as the reason why he's overweight. IMHO that BS! You are a trained professional athlete, there is absolutely NO REASON why you are reporting into camp at 450+lbs.
He's also used the "I didn't know camp started" card. Marty couldn't do it, Gruden couldn't do it, the Minnesota front office couldn't do it, so I don't know if Saban could do it.
One thing about Fonoti is he hates being coached and instructed what to do. He definitely has his own drummer in his head.
At this point in time the move is not that bad. It's one of those low risk - medium reward pick-up. Yes, medium reward. I personally think his ankle/legs are done. One thing he has been really consistent with are injuries. You get these injuries by not taking care of your body.
The other thing with Fonoti besides personal issues are with his family. They are a tad bit...how do I say this..."koo-koo." He's been known to dissappear for days without informing his family and has had some pretty good battles with this wifey. I hope for him, he's taken care of all these things because he does have talent - now it's just a matter of how HUNGRY and how bad does he want it. If I were a betting man, I'd bet against him.
For your organizations sake, hopefully I'm wrong. I would be very surprised if Fonoti is in Fins uniform by the end of the year...if he is, I'd be even more surprised if he's invited to training camp.
