Congratulations former Dolphin’s DC Vic Fangio

I can't believe there are still some people that continue to bad mouth Fangio, but whatever. There are plenty of flat earthers and chemtrail believers, so there's that.

Mahomes is overrated.
I don’t think so but man they collapsed that pocket on him and forced him into one of the worst games of his pro career. The other one was when the Bucs D did similar to him in the SB - but he was missing both starting tackles that day and they couldn’t block anyone on his pass plays.

Never disliked the guy, was thrilled we hired him, not thrilled he left and congrats on his SB ring....but anybody that thinks we would have a defense that dominant if Fangio stayed is dreaming. We need to move forward as opposed to pining over what could have been.

Yeah, that's what won the game for the Eagles. Obviously, Philadelphia's offense played well too. But this game shows the importance of a pass rush. The Eagles didn't even blitz once.
I was so pissed at Fangio because he never blitzed. But yesterday proved that you need to generate pressure without blitzing. Same problem Weaver had. Can't be successful if the only way to pressure is with 6 guys rushing. That leads to big plays. Funny thing is that with Chubb, Phillips, Chop and Sieler, we have the makings of a decent DL especially if pick 13 is a DT

Good point.

To beat the best QBs in the game - when it matters - like in the Super Bowl, your best chance is to generate a pass rush without blitzing. Both G-Men wins over Brady were done by rushing only 4 and winning at the POA over and over. Philly did just that last night. No blitzes. You know who else once did that to a legendary QB in the SB? Yup. The 69ers. They didn’t blitz Marino once the entire game. Rushed 3 and 4 and got home on nearly every throw. 7 DBs plus a spy LB most of the time. It’s a hard thing to do but if you can get consistent pressure w your front 4, no QB is going to overcome that. The only way you win a game like that is if you are doing the same thing to their QB and some other facets of the game play out in your favor.

Just remember that Roseman tried to trade three first round picks for Russell Wilson two years ago and RW said no and chose to go to Denver. He also drafted Jaelen Raegor one pick before Justin Jefferson, 3 years in a row his top pick was a bust. Just saying, there is a lot to Howie.
Good points. All GMs make some questionable or worse decisions. The bottom line though is he has assembled two SB championship rosters.

Weaver replacing Vic was likely an upgrade, all things considered.

While we’ve lost Jaelen Phillips, Connor Williams and Bradley Chubb to career altering or ending injuries.

And for some stupid reason the Saints let them have Jalen Carter for free by making one of the dumbest trades in recent history.

I don’t try to come off as a Grier fan, I’m not but he’s not abysmal or clueless and out team isn’t trash. We just need to fix the obvious flaws. Maybe last season was the eye opening results we needed to see to finally turn our biggest weakness into somewhat of a strength.

Logical points. I appreciate pragmatism rather than the knee-jerk reactionary BS we get from many around here.

I don't think so.
This Superbowl really showed that football is at its best - a team sport. - LOL

What? 80 percent of the geniuses who post here say it’s all about the QB.

All organizational failures are the responsibility of the QB.

And no one else.

Seems you might be in the minority, uncle Ray.
