I've been a staunch supporter of Sam Madison for as long as I can remember. I'm really happy he finally broke through and got an interception after thirty-some-odd games without having one. A lot of people here on Finheaven have been really hard on number 29 as of late. It's been well documented that he's not a great tackler and he's gotten more than his fair share of penalties at inopportune times (especially with the new contact rules). But Sam's still played hard despite all of this and has been the consummate professional the entire time. He's been willing, several times, to restructure his contract and even except a lesser role if it's in the best interest of the team. So congrats Sam. I hope this will be the start of a long streak of games with an interception, and will inspire the rest of our god-awful secondary.

GO PHINS!!!!

Sam did have a decent game, and I congratulate him on his pick, but I think he really needs to step up the next few weeks if he plans to stay in South Florida.

I agree with you on that. I don't think that Saban is going to get too attached to any particular player, especially if they aren't making plays.

No doubt Sam made a HUGE play for us, at the time it didn't look serious, towards the end, it became monster.

Now I'm going to throw in my defense for Travis Daniels. He got beat early in the game, but came back and made a few big plays... notably knocking down a deep ball on 3rd down in the 4th quarter to get us the ball back. What impressed me the most about Daniels, is that even though he was torched on the first few possesions, he kept his head in the game and was confident enough to come back from that and make plays, and he's a rookie. I'm impressed with Travis Daniels.

I expect Daniels to make mistakes and get burned from time-to-time because he is a rookie. My statement about our secondary was more of an indictment of them as a collective. Daniels did step it up as the game progressed.

I understand, I was just really impressed with the play of both corners in the game, Madison and Daniels.

I too hope this is a good sign for him his 1st int in 2 years. Good for him

he doesnt have the picks, but have you guys seen some of the plays he has made? Anyone see the play in the atlanta game where he broke off his WR out to a wide open Crumpler to prevent a TD? he still has it in him

I think in a few years Daniels will be one of the steals from this draft, as well as Crowder.

Yeah, I saw that play. That was vintage Madison. People tend to overlook plays like that and only accentuate the negative.
