Congratulations on picking up Wes Welker

Seems like he has great hands

Doesnt look like he will have problems holding onto the ball. Did you see some of those PRs he caught with people all around him. Most KRs would have fair caught that thing.

And he does have speed, but his ability to stop on a dime and change directions is pretty respectable for a white dude.

Hey, texasPHINSfan, are you by any chance a U of T grad?? Maybe that explains your shameless raining on our Wes Welker parade  :jk:

BTW I think the reason he was cut is becuse the Chargers already have a damn fine return man - Tim Dwight. He actually returned a kickoff for a TD this past week; plus he is in their WR rotation. I guess the Chargers couldnt justify keeping him.

No i'm not a UT grad.... I am a UF grad who happens to be in texas right now. This has nothing to do with his school - Texas Tech gave us Zach Thomas if you will remember.

Thanks Surferosa for being courteous and answering my question by listing Tim Dwight as their return man - he is a most excellent return man. This had slipped my mind.

Infins - thanks for once again bringing nothing to the table. FYI - That tag was given to me by this elusive "expert" on these boards known as "Boomer." I bring counter-opinions to the table, and everyone calls it heresy. If this forum were the damn witch trials, i would been burned a long time ago. Boomer was making blind optimism, expectational comments about this year, how we'd be so great and what-not.... i was coutering him with facts on what we'd done, and my differences with his opinions. Instead of proving me wrong, he simply labeled me as a "fake fan." (great argument, by the way).... Needless to say, he's nowhere to be found now, and i'm still here.

At no point did i say that Wes sucks or that this was a bad pickup. I simply questioned why was he cut from the chargers? Why would that not arouse some suspicions? I complemented the thread starter on a great video, and added that i hope he does well and anyone is an improvement over lamont frightful.

If thats not good enough for you, maybe you belong on the homer boards!

Maybe a better tag for me would be: enemy of blind optimism.

Couple of his moves made me think of dante hall. I'm not saying he's going to be anywhere close to being as good as hall, just that he made me think of him.

Had you bothered to answer the question the first time I asked you, I would not have brought it up again but, your disappearance when I initally asked, and your constant negativity, along with the big sign saying I'm a fake fan drew my interest and I made it a point to find out what it was all about.

BTW, Boomer didn't call you a fake fan....he said you're not a real fan....it's right there in your sig.

Where IS Boomer? I hate that he disappears during the season. :(

Click on the video titled "Wes Welker Highlight Video" under Football 2003. I think you guys will be impressed. Also, check out the 2002 A&M game if you want to see him single handidly bring us back from 17 down in the 4th quarter against Texas A&M. Wes is a warrior and will give the Dolphins 110% on every play.
Thanks man. I appreciate you bringing up that memory for me! Sad thing was it would all have been for not if our d*mn kicker could just make an extra point lol....

Our QB was signed by the Texans, but he is currently on the IR. He played more than half of last year on a torn ACL, so it's time to get him fixed back up.

We also have anothe receiver, Carlos Francis, that is playing for Oakland. He ran the fastest 40 time at the NFL combine, which is the main reason why he was taken in the 3rd round. He is now their starting kick returner.

BJ Symons

Woody,

BJ Symons was drafted by the Texans. He is on IR right now after having surgery on a banged up knee that he played on most of the year last year. I fully expect him to overtake Carr next year.;)

Now to the topic of the thread. Wes Welker is a great player, and you guys are going to love him. He's fearless ... I've never seen him call a fair catch, and I can only remember him duffing 2 punts in 4 years at Tech.
