Congratulations on the Huge Win

I don't think overconfidence or hype will be a problem for the Buffalo game given that they came into our own house and beat us earlier in the season. The guys will know that Buffalo can beat them and will prepare themselves accordingly. However, I do worry about the Jets because we won so easily despite playing like crap for huge chunks of the first game.

To be completely 100% perfect honest, ever since i started lurking here in 2008(jumped on the wagon after the wildcat win against NE), there hasn't been much I've diss-agreed on with you nyjunc. Have there been times when you got on people's nerves here? Sure, but it is mostly because your posts tend to be objective as an outsider looking in and you tend to lay them on people when they are at their highest level of excitement. I like to think of myself as a cautiously optimistic person and that is why I tend to agree with you most of the time. Anyways, thanks for coming here and congratulating us, it's too bad we have to root for different teams.

first part, I think rex deserves to stay. I would be very upset if we fired him but I won't be shocked b/c the new GM may want a new coach. I don't think we are far off from being a playoff team and we have tons of cap room and picks this offseason to help plug some holes sort of like you guys last year.

I think decent QB play and we win 2-3 more games so yes. It's not all geno's fault, the injuries around him have hurt him but he wasn't ready to play starting this year. he is actually beginning to look like an NFL QB, I hope he finishes strong and it is a good sign for the future.
I have been thinking Rex will stay, but everything seems right for a rebuild there and that usually means a new coach. Either way I think they need a new QB and with the new CBA any team without should draft one every year until they find their franchise guy.

Rebuilding already started this past offseason w/ cleaning up the cap and acquiring more picks. This isn't the 80s, teams get good and bad fast. I expect to compete for a playoff berth next year.

I take a lot of crap on here b/c it is perceived I don't give you credit, the reality is I have been here since 2004 and if you are honest you will understand there haven't been many times to praise the Dolphins. That certainly is not the case for yesterday.

BIG TIME win, your team was outstanding. Tannehill was excellent. Again, I got bashed for saying he wasn't nearly as good as the #s the last 2 weeks well yesterday he was better than the #s and he put up outstanding #s. We talked about some short passes your receivers made excellent individual plays to score on but yesterday the drive of the game was at the end of the 1st half where he put the ball in a perfect spot for Wallace to break free for the TD. He deserves all then credit, if he played like he did the previous 2 weeks you would not have won yesterday but he stepped up and played a great game.

One quick thought on the HC, to me if you guys finish these last 2 weeks the way I expect(w/ 2 wins) he should be Coach of the year. Coming into the season we all knew you had playoff talent but when you started losing then the Incongnito/Martin thing happened he easily could have lost the team and what is even more impressive is how they responded after the loss to Tampa. That could have sunk you guys losing to a winless team in the middle of the off the field nonsense. I know reid has done a great job but Philbin deserves it if you finish these last 2 games w/ win.

W/ all that said you have work left to do. On paper these next 2 games should be wins but now all that positive media attention you guys have been craving for years will appear this week. This current groups of players has never experienced winning before so they will hear all week how great they are and how they should roll over Buffalo. Buffalo is not bad, if you don't enter this game w/ the same level of urgency this week you can get picked off. I expect you will win, I think you are on a roll now that can continue into January but there is work left to be done.

Enjoy this run, the real fans deserve it and I am happy for you(though obviously not rooting for you). Don't get ahead of yourselves, enjoy the moment and good luck the rest of the way.

cool stuff man, appreciate it bigtime

Thank you. It's not everyday our team gets praise from a jets fan and viceversa. I'm not sure still what kind of team we have. Happy we won these last 2 games and yet our defense almost blew both of them. Beating the bills and jets will not be easy. We never make anything easy for ourselfs. Time will tell how far we can get.One thing is or sure tho, NE can't win the east forever. Somebody will take the east from them soon.

Ozzy rules!!

There is certainly some talent on that team, I read something the other day about Cutler being a possibility in New York. He may have issues, but he is much better than what you've had this year

Total jinx thread. Nice try but even I am marginally optimistic about the Dolphins NOW based on the fact that the entire AFC is terrible and even if they miss the playoffs on some kind of tiebreaker beating the Jets twice in a season will still be, as
Always, my Super Bowl.

Nice post.......classy........are you really a Jets fans...... LoL :-)

I don't want Cutler for many reasons, he's a good #s guy and nothing more. He will not be able to handle the criticism in NY. I'd rather have McCown.

Thanks Junc. Your team beat them as well this year, lets hope it's a trend that continues for both our teams.

Just this week alone, the Broncos, Pats, Bengals, Eagles, Cowboys, and Saints were all teams that had something big to play for, playing teams with worse records, and found a way to lose. It really doesn't matter how many times a coach tells his players how to not over look the other team, it is bigger than that. Once the game starts the favorite is playing not to lose, and the underdog is playing loose just having fun.

The safest bet in sports is betting the underdog late in the NFL season against teams that CTOD (control their own destiny). They cover at nearly a 80% rate. This week vs the bills, if you bet with your heart bet the fins, if you bet with your mind.....don't.
