I fully believe the player Parcells wants & will get is Connor Barwin.

Sure players such as Larry English,Everrett Brown or Clay Matthews have gotten noteriety,I believe however that Barwin is the pick.

We have heard in 2 different reports( Gil Brandt & Omar Kelley) that Parcells has ID'ed his player and will move up to get him,so who and why?

English,Brown,Matthews,Micheal Johnson even Aaron Maybin all have some skill but none are as complete as Barwin.

If you plugged any of these LB'ers into miami's defense right now all but Barwin would need to play wolb only Barwin could step in and play solb.

As we awaite the draft remember the name Connor Barwin

First pick in the second would be good.

Well I figure you have the LB part right just which one and I truly beleive it will be our 1st round pick too!

He's NOT a first rounder so why do we have to do anything to move up?

i don't think so... connor barwin is a good player and would be a nice pick in the 2nd round.

There's simply too much talent at OLB/DE this year and barwin can't compare to the top talent right now (first round talent).

He's relatively new to his position, but i believe it brings out a huge positive: sky's the limit for this guy.

The thing is, you don't gamble with first rounders ... you draft guys who are a proven commodity that will step up and play from day 1 for you. I agree that the 25th pick is awfully close to a 2nd rounder, but it's the best one we've got and we can't spend it on a guy like barwin...

Barwin in the 2nd round would be fine by me

if there's no explosive option at 25, a "can't miss" type of player, barwin would be a possibility, being that he has talent but he mostly has tons of upside

he wont be there at 44. gotta move up to get him or back with our 25th pick.

Conner Barwin at 6'4" 255 lbs absolutely blew up the combine posting numbers better than a lot of S's,CB's,and WR's.

It's his cone, and vertical, and broad jump that indicate he would have no trouble whatsoever in coverage, not to mention elite ball skills.

His tackling and pass rushing skills are on tape.

Barwin has defintely moved himself into the 1st round.

like the kid but needs some serious coaching he plays to high and to learn how to wrap better on his tackles

Move up to get him?? Don't need to. Maybe trade out of the first and take him with one of 3 second rounders. He along with Clay Matthews/Larry English and Sean Smith would be one helluva second round.

How many 6'4" 256 lbs. guys have a 41.5 vertical???? Gholston, but not at the combine when it really matters, when the heat is on.

Besides, Barwins 40 was the same as Gholston's and Barwin's cone and broad jump are better than Gholston's.

In addition to this, Barwin is a very good TE and could play the position.

He has excellent ball skills.

He will be raw at 3-4 OLB but so was Gholston last year and he went top 5.

Do you see what I'm getting at? There are more reasons to believe that Barwin will be a great OLB than most of the DE's who have no ball skills or experience running pass routes.

Barwin IS the quintessential 3-4 OLB prospect. You couldn't ask much more than he has shown.

A 4.5 forty would've been nice but not even the safeties can accomplish that at this combine.

Who knows where this guy might go?

He could go top 20 easily.

He could also be a second day draft pick easily

YEP, YEP, YEP. I like a Barwin, Sean Smith, Herman Johnson first day ....but it looks like all three are moving up compared to initial mocks!!! So it's been hard to project where they might go, draft day early movement should reveal some trends and reduce the options of some teams who opt for BPA over needs early on. DT Brace has gotten some attention too (maybe 3rd rd) and I believe Bill will always have extra DT's on the roster ...and he would pretty much fill out the DT roster spot, then we can get an extra LB and DB in the 4th & 5th. After that we can take some chances on WR's with our last few picks.
Every one has their personal priorities and I know mine are unique, but I do believe Herman Johnson G/T, Sean Smith CB/S, and Conner Barwin ILB/OLB/TE, all afford position flexibility and are near the top of their peer groups.
