Count me in as one of the skeptics when we found out Williams was going to be our center, and not our starting LG.

I've been pleasantly surprised with this development, as he gives us the best C play since Pouncey's early years.

Really wish I could get the All-22 footage up here in Canada...it is terrific.

This is not directed to the OP.

But that is a horrible analysis or take on that play

To me, it was very clear Skylar decided he was going to take off and run.

Once he hits the gap, the defender Connor is blocking quickly closes the gap.

Skylar steps back and attempts to run to the right side when the defender beats Connors block and stops Skylar where Skylar attempted to then complete a pass

But, it's clear Skylar made the decision to run.

There's no panic. Absolutely none. Just a good defensive play and a QB who attempted to make a play when his running lane vanished

that play makes me question the jets for not rushing on Eichenberg

Connor can be a top Center in this league.

Personally I would rather know we have a legit Center and have to look for a Guard than have a legit Guard and need a Center.

So, I would rather he stay at Center.

Now if NO wants to trade us one of their centers? Then we'll talk lol

I see what you're saying, Gryphonk.

When the QB decides to move off his set drop point, angles for D lineman change, and it looks at times like o-lineman get beat and are reaching or grasping. Most plays are fluid that way

I think with experience Skyler just sits tight in that pocket. Very common for a young quarterback to have happy feet.

True true.

Yeah, I am not blaming Connor on that play. His blocking was good.

Not his fault at all. Just a good play by the defender to stop it

That would been flag all day roughing passer if that was brady.
that was a hit below the knees right ? So it's textbook roughing not called

We got jobbed big time in this game from the first play on

I think he’s talking about the decision to run. He had targets but bailed

Are we now making excuses for yet another QB?

Man, what did Marino do to you guys?

Run? Where? There’s a LB shadowing him.

If he made the decision to run, he panicked. It’s a 3 man rush and he looked like he could’ve had an expresso in the pocket before attempting a pass.

Everyone covered? Throw. The. Ball. Away. When are people going to realize that one of the signs of a good QB is knowing when to throw. The. Ball. Away? If you have any kind of an arm, it’s literally the easiest thing in football. Just sail it clear over a WR into the sideline.

Unless you’re one of the few QBs that can run athleticly or can Josh Allen your way through an 300 LBS DT tackle, running should be your last option ESPECIALLY with the pocket in that video.

The kid has happy feet. Look, man. We all want to think we found a diamond in the rough in the kid. What fan doesn’t want a Brady miracle? But his performance showed a shaky QB. Maybe if he wouldn’t have a had a surrounding cast that forgot how to catch footballs, he would’ve settled down and shown better. And it by no means defines the rest of his career. Hell, Josh Allen went from league bust to possible HOF bust in a year.

But he didn’t look pretty. That’s why stats can go by the way side for me. Anyone can drop a pass and everyone throws INTs. Numbers are numbers. But the eye test for any fan watching this or any game long enough is sufficient. Is he nice with it? Does he make those movements that make you go, “Wow, bro. That sh!ts not taught. You’re just born with that.”

And that’s one of the things Tua is missing. When Tua gets pressured you can physically see his instinct go, “I have no game plan! Panic mode! Panic mode!” while Mahomes body’s instinct is, “yeah, I’ll just flow this way smoothly change hands and back hand the ball with the opposite arm to that guy right there.” And makes it look like he practiced that ****.

Way to turn talking about Skylar into a way to bash Tua.

Lol wow

Yeah-why the fark are we bringing Tua into this thread about Connor the Barbarian? Bottom line Connor has been serviceable and he's the least of the Fins problems right now. Leave him at Center for stability purposes and let's hope he continues on his upward trajectory.
