Ok so let's say in a alternate world Philbin gets some Bilicheat ideas and says "We play division opponents in weeks 3 & 4, we play some weak teams in week 1 & 2 so let's take the chance that we might take a loss and play some vanilla defense and offense so we don't show much heading in our division games." Now of curse that are taking the chance that they might take a loss (which they did this week) but then when we play Buffalo and the Jets we open the book up on both sides of the ball.

Yea I know... Sure and pigs can fly! They are wearing mittens in hell! But can a guy just dream?:rob19:

I hope that's the way it's scripted but the reality is we are a poorly coached team with glaring weaknesses. We will not suddenly turn it on when we play a divisional opponent, real teams don't do this

I sense some serious denial making the rounds... Let's put it this way, this is like a bad movie over and over again -- we know the story by heart and you may want to deny it for a period of time but as the frames advance the story becomes very clear. And the movie is not gonna change until we burn the script that includes Philbin and most of the scrap (staff) he's accumulated.

I'm sure they have placed more emphasis on the division games. But for Philbin, that means watching film a little earlier and preaching fundamentals more. Nothing quite so tricky. Though I do think they've eased Parker in only to "unleash" him these two weeks. Probably doesn't have that big of an impact however.

I don't buy it, but it's an interesting theory. Who knows though, maybe Sunday's loss will spark some major changes from the staff - although listening to Coyle, he sounds like he's sticking to his guns - although you'd say that anyway if you were trying something new - no need to give it away.

Considering there's 16 games in a season I highly doubt they'd do that for 1/8 of the season

Id like to believe Joe was resting Wake and his hamstring for this buffalo game. You gotta win your home opener especially against a division opponent. I hope we also see more of Parker and Phillips. Lets hope OP is right.

I don't think so. You prepared to beat your next opponent. Every game in a 16 game season is valuable because the margin of error can be as low as half a game. And if you have games on your schedule that are easier than others, you better secure those victories.
